I never really thought about myself living in a tall building because I prefer small house or small houses having front or backyard with small garden. I like the gardening and yeah, it feels more like uh, my place in my property compared to the big bill.

Part 1

Are there tall buildings near your home?

分数: 48.0

建议: Be direct and clear: start with a concise topic sentence answering the question, then add one or two specific supporting details. Avoid irrelevant remarks (e.g., asking the examiner to elaborate). Use correct grammar and smoother linking words (e.g., “however”, “for example”).

示例: No, there are no very tall buildings near my home. I live in university accommodation surrounded mainly by low-rise blocks of about seven or eight floors. Because the area is mostly residential, the skyline is fairly uniform and there are no skyscrapers nearby.

Do you take photos of buildings?

分数: 52.0

建议: Answer directly and give a clear reason with specific details and correct vocabulary. Avoid repetition and filler words. Use linking words (e.g., “because”, “so”, “for example”) and correct pluralization.

示例: No, I don't usually photograph buildings because I find many modern buildings look very similar. Instead, I prefer photographing nature — for example, mountains and trees — because they offer more variety in colour and texture.

Do you want to live in a tall building?

分数: 56.0

建议: Provide a clear opinion first, then give two specific reasons with linking words (e.g., “because”, “for example”). Correct noun forms and reduce hesitation. Mention concrete benefits of your preference to add detail.

示例: No, I wouldn't want to live in a tall building because I prefer a small house with a front or back garden. For example, I enjoy gardening and having outdoor space for plants, and a house feels more private and homely than an apartment in a high-rise.

语法

12: Incorrect use of pronouns

× No, I haven't seen two tall buildings near me.

No, I haven't seen any tall buildings near me.

The student used 'two' which specifies a number incorrectly; context suggests none or not many. Use 'any' with negative sentences for plural countable nouns.

6: Present tense issue

× Actually I'm living in university.

Actually I'm living in a university.

Use the article 'a' before singular countable nouns. 'Living' is acceptable in present continuous but needs 'a university' for correct noun phrase.

7: Future tense issue

× I thought that you will be able to elaborate.

I thought that you would be able to elaborate.

When reporting a thought in the past ('I thought'), shift the future 'will' to the past form 'would' (backshifting) for correct sequence of tenses.

6: Present tense issue

× It looked a bit high to me.

It looks a bit tall to me.

The examiner asked about current surroundings; use present tense 'looks'. Also 'high' is possible but for buildings 'tall' is more natural.

1: Singular and plural issue

× It's about 7-8 floors.

It has about seven or eight floors.

Use plural agreement and a verb for description: 'has ... floors' is natural. Spelling out numbers improves clarity.

22: Article errors

× I personally do not prefer taking photos of buildings because to me building is buildings are not so much special.

I personally do not prefer taking photos of buildings because buildings do not seem very special to me.

Removed redundancy and fixed word order. 'To me' should come after the clause; 'so much special' is incorrect — use 'very special' or 'not very special.'

11: Incorrect use of prepositions

× You can see same shape buildings in any cities in Korea, South Korea umm.

You can see similarly shaped buildings in many cities in South Korea.

Correct form is 'similarly shaped' (adverb + participle) and use 'many cities' not 'any cities' in positive statement; place country name naturally and avoid repetition.

8: Verb + -ing form

× What I prefer is taking photos of umm mountain lions or natural things.

What I prefer is taking photos of mountain landscapes or natural scenes.

'Mountain lions' are animals and unlikely intended; likely 'mountain landscapes'. Use noun phrases that make sense; 'taking photos of' is acceptable.

1: Singular and plural issue

× There's a very high buildings in South Korea.

There are some very tall buildings in South Korea.

'There is' requires singular; for plural use 'There are' and 'tall' is more natural than 'high' for buildings. Added 'some' for natural phrasing.

22: Article errors

× Actually one of them is Tower, one is Namsan, Tower is in Namsan and one of the highest man built object and so and the other one is loaded.

For example, one is the Namsan Tower, which is in Namsan and is one of the tallest man-made structures; the other one is Lotte Tower.

Fixed articles ('the Namsan Tower'), corrected 'man built object' to 'man-made structure', clarified 'Lotte Tower' (likely intended), and restructured sentence for clarity.

1: Singular and plural issue

× Tower is one of the highest buildings.

The tower is one of the tallest buildings.

Add the definite article 'the' and use 'tallest' as superlative; 'tall' is preferable to 'high' for buildings.

6: Present tense issue

× I never really thought about myself living in a tall building because I prefer small house or small houses having front or backyard with small garden.

I have never really thought about living in a tall building because I prefer a small house with a front or back yard and a small garden.

Use present perfect 'have never' for life experience. Remove reflexive 'myself' which is unnecessary. Use singular 'a small house' and correct noun phrases 'front or back yard' and 'a small garden.'

13: Incorrect use of adjectives or adverbs

× I like the gardening and yeah, it feels more like uh, my place in my property compared to the big bill.

I like gardening, and it feels more like my own place on my property compared to a big building.

Remove definite article before 'gardening', use 'my own place' and 'on my property' for natural phrasing. 'Big bill' is a pronunciation error; replace with 'big building.'
