Giám khảo

Is there a difference between where you meet friends now and where you used to meet them in the past?

Thí sinh

Yes, there is definitely a big difference. In the past we will arrange our meeting in the park, or in a small restaurant or cafe we can actually talk face to face or discuss things together, but nowadays we actually don't meet face to face since the internet opens up a lot of opportunity for us to communicate through the computers or our phone easily, more conveniently. So we just talk in the We Chat group instead of sit down and look into each other's eyes and discuss things. It's quite acceptable since the hectic life we are having right now, everything seems to be in a very fast.

Giám khảo

Why are some places suitable for meeting while others are not?

Thí sinh

If you really want to discuss something serious, I would suggest to a very formal place a more quiet atmosphere should be involved. But it's just like normal hanging out, I think wherever it is, it's not it doesn't matter a lot, but the person who you're meeting with that actually makes a difference. So if the conference is being held or some discussion or some decisions should be made, I suggest a very quiet private room. And in our city, we do have these kind of places to be rented or to held for serious conversation.

Giám khảo

Do you prefer to spend time with one friend or with a group of friends?

Thí sinh

I would prefer to spend time with one friend because we can just talk to each other or sometimes just keep quiet, enjoy the pure company of each other. But if a group of friends or the people will just aimlessly chatting with each other or one to the other, it's quite noisy and sometimes the company or the ideas could not get through in group chat. So a chat or communication between two is more effective if the decision should be made or the pure enjoyment can be indulged

Giám khảo

Would you invite friends to your home?

Thí sinh

Yes, but only like two or three because I do not possess a big house. So a little apartment is not very suitable to hold a party, let's say. So maybe one or two friends that will be okay. I will invite them to my house, home if we want to discuss something or just the company from each other otherwise I would not because I hate cleaning up after the guests leave. You can see the mess under the dirt on the floor and I have to clean up all the trash too. So if I have to invite friends to the home, that I will do it otherwise.

Giám khảo

How important are friends to you?

Thí sinh

I would like to say friends aren't very important to me because nowadays most people are quite independent, so am I. And friends could be someone who give you a suggestion or you can confine your secrets to him or her. But nowadays we have like our AI company our companion AI companion they will offer you the super secretive way and the perfect solution for your worries or sorrows. So nowadays I think friends just kind of mean less and less important to me.

Giám khảo

Do you often go out with your friends?

Thí sinh

Not really because I've been working and I still have a family to afford. I sound to tutor, so my life is quite occupied. I do not go outside with my friends anymore. And even I want to buy something, I will just order everything from my phone and a click and a scent. Back to old previous days, my friend and I will hang out to buy purchase something together but this option is no longer required in my nowadays life. So at present I do not hang out with my friend like as often as before.

Giám khảo

Where do you often meet each other?

Thí sinh

If my friend and I have an appointment, sometimes we will arrange a quiet place to sit down and talk because shopping is so easy for us nowadays from the internet. So normally if we hang out with each other, it's all about talking, discussion and sharing the updates. So a quiet place like a cafe would be our best choice. But there would be some other options for example a nice restaurant like have a branch together. That could be alternatives, but just a very quiet atmosphere environment that will be suitable for us to talk and discuss.

Giám khảo

What do you usually do with your friends?

Thí sinh

I think we just talk through and update each other's daily life now to see what we can do for the future. So most of the time when I hang out with my friends, it's all about communication and discussion. Friend is a good way to confine your life or sometimes a secret, your worries and some decisions we are hesitant to make. As friends are there, they will give us support and sometimes some suggestions for us. That could be very useful. So when we sit and discuss, communication makes a very big part of our time together.

Giám khảo

Do you have a friend you have known for a long time?

Thí sinh

Yes, I have three friends. I have known them for more than two decades. We were high school classmates. Three of them, they are actually middle school classmates. We have we've known each other from since then and we have been friends twenty years ago because I think we share the same personalities. We are outgoings and we are extreme extrovert. So it's easy to get along with each other and we have kept this friendship since then. And we update each other in our weak group to be connected.

Is there a difference between where you meet friends now and where you used to meet them in the past?

Điểm: 55.0

Gợi ý: 回答切题,也有过去与现在的对比,但句子过长,时态和搭配错误较多,例如“we will arrange”“opportunity”“instead of sit”。

Ví dụ: Yes, there’s quite a big difference. In the past, my friends and I usually met at a park or a café, where we could chat face to face. These days, we often keep in touch through WeChat because it’s quicker and more convenient, especially when we’re busy.

Why are some places suitable for meeting while others are not?

Điểm: 52.0

Gợi ý: 你区分了正式讨论和普通聚会,观点清楚,但表达有重复和语法问题,如“suggest to a place”“more quiet”“these kind of places”。

Ví dụ: It depends on what people are meeting for. A quiet, private room is best for a serious discussion because people can concentrate and speak freely. For a casual catch-up, a café or a park would be more suitable.

Do you prefer to spend time with one friend or with a group of friends?

Điểm: 57.0

不过“pure company”“ideas could not get through”等表达不自然,结尾也不完整。建议用“enjoy each other’s company”和“hard to get a word in”来表达,并用一个简短例子支持理由。

Ví dụ: I prefer spending time with one friend because we can have a proper conversation and really listen to each other. In a large group, it can get noisy, and sometimes it’s difficult to get a word in. I find one-to-one catch-ups more relaxing.

Would you invite friends to your home?

Điểm: 50.0

Gợi ý: 回答提供了住房空间和清洁两个具体原因,但数量前后不一致(“two or three”与“one or two”),也有重复和不自然的表达。建议统一人数,并把答案压缩到三句左右;可用“enjoy each other’s company”和“tidy up afterwards”。

Ví dụ: Yes, but I’d only invite one or two friends because I live in a small apartment. We could have a meal or chat together, but it wouldn’t be suitable for a big party. I also prefer not to host too often because I have to tidy up afterwards.

How important are friends to you?

Điểm: 45.0

Ví dụ: Friends are quite important to me, although I’m fairly independent. I can talk to them about personal problems and get honest advice from someone who knows me well. Technology can be helpful, but it can’t replace the support of a close friend.

Do you often go out with your friends?

Điểm: 48.0

Gợi ý: 你说明了工作和家庭责任让自己变忙,也提到以前会和朋友一起购物,但语法错误和重复较多,例如“family to afford”“I sound to tutor”“buy purchase”。建议用“support my family”“I work as a tutor”和“as often as I used to”,并删去不必要的购物细节。

Ví dụ: Not very often. I work as a tutor and have a family to support, so I’m usually quite busy. I used to go shopping with my friends, but now we mostly order things online. As a result, we don’t meet up as much as we used to.

Where do you often meet each other?

Điểm: 58.0

但“appointment”不适合这里的朋友约见,“have a branch”表达不清,且“quiet atmosphere environment”重复。建议使用“meet up”“catch up”和“have a meal”等自然表达。

Ví dụ: We usually meet at a quiet café. Since we can shop online, we tend to meet mainly to catch up and share what’s been happening in our lives. Sometimes we choose a restaurant instead if we want to have a meal together.

What do you usually do with your friends?

Điểm: 62.0

“confine your life”用词错误,应表达为“share personal things”或“confide in friends”。

Ví dụ: We usually catch up and talk about what’s been happening in our lives. We also share worries and ask each other for advice, especially when we’re facing a difficult decision. It’s comforting to know that we can support one another.

Điểm: 52.0

Ví dụ: Yes, I have three close friends whom I’ve known for over twenty years. We first met at school, and we’ve stayed in touch ever since. We’re all quite outgoing, so we get along easily. We still share updates in a WeChat group.

Ngữ pháp

5: Past tense issue(过去时错误)

× In the past we will arrange our meeting in the park, or in a small restaurant or cafe we can actually talk face to face or discuss things together, but nowadays we actually don't meet face to face since the internet opens up a lot of opportunity for us to communicate through the computers or our phone easily, more conveniently.

✓ In the past, we would arrange to meet in the park or in a small restaurant or café, where we could talk face to face or discuss things together, but nowadays we don't usually meet face to face because the internet gives us many ways to communicate easily and conveniently.

8: Verb + -ing form(动词-ing形式)

× So we just talk in the We Chat group instead of sit down and look into each other's eyes and discuss things.

✓ So we just talk in the WeChat group instead of sitting down, looking into each other's eyes, and discussing things.

“Instead of”中的“of”是介词,后接动词时应使用动名词形式。建议将其后的并列动词统一改为“-ing”形式。

26: Sentence structure errors(句子结构错误)

× It's quite acceptable since the hectic life we are having right now, everything seems to be in a very fast.

✓ It's quite acceptable given the hectic lives we have right now; everything seems to be moving very fast.

“Everything seems to be in a very fast”结构不完整,“fast”不能这样放在“in a”后面作名词短语。可用“seems to be moving very fast”表达“似乎发展得很快”。

26: Sentence structure errors(句子结构错误)

× If you really want to discuss something serious, I would suggest to a very formal place a more quiet atmosphere should be involved.

✓ If you really want to discuss something serious, I would suggest choosing a formal place with a quieter atmosphere.

原句把“suggest”后面的内容和“a quieter atmosphere should be involved”错误地拼接在一起,导致句子结构混乱。

26: Sentence structure errors(句子结构错误)

× But it's just like normal hanging out, I think wherever it is, it's not it doesn't matter a lot, but the person who you're meeting with that actually makes a difference.

✓ But if you're just hanging out, I think the place doesn't matter much; the person you're meeting with is what really makes a difference.

“it's not it doesn't matter”重复使用了两个否定结构,且后半句缺少清晰的主谓关系。

21: Incorrect passive voice(被动语态错误)

× And in our city, we do have these kind of places to be rented or to held for serious conversation.

✓ And in our city, we do have these kinds of places that can be rented or used for serious conversations.

“to held”缺少被动语态中的助动词“be”。被动结构应为“be + 过去分词”,所以应说“to be held”;此处用“can be rented or used”能更清楚地表达用途。

1: Singular and plural issue(单复数问题)

× And in our city, we do have these kind of places to be rented or to held for serious conversation.

✓ And in our city, we do have these kinds of places that can be rented or used for serious conversations.

“these”指复数事物,因此后面的“kind”也应使用复数“kinds”。建议留意指示词与其后名词的单复数一致。

4: Modal verb usage(情态动词用法错误)

× But if a group of friends or the people will just aimlessly chatting with each other or one to the other, it's quite noisy and sometimes the company or the ideas could not get through in group chat.

✓ But if a group of friends or other people are just chatting aimlessly with each other, it's quite noisy, and sometimes the ideas don't come across clearly in a group chat.

“will”后面应接动词原形,不能接“chatting”。这里表达一般情况下的活动,不需要使用“will”;可以用“are chatting”描述正在发生的行为。

12: Incorrect use of pronouns(代词使用错误)

× But if a group of friends or the people will just aimlessly chatting with each other or one to the other, it's quite noisy and sometimes the company or the ideas could not get through in group chat.

✓ But if a group of friends or other people are just chatting aimlessly with each other, it's quite noisy, and sometimes the ideas don't come across clearly in a group chat.

表示相互交流时,固定表达是“each other”,原句中的“one to the other”不符合此处的代词用法。

11: Incorrect use of prepositions(介词使用错误)

× So a chat or communication between two is more effective if the decision should be made or the pure enjoyment can be indulged

✓ So a chat or conversation between two people is more effective when a decision needs to be made or when we simply want to enjoy ourselves.

“indulge”表示尽情享受时,通常需要搭配介词“in”;原句的“enjoyment can be indulged”缺少合适的介词结构。

11: Incorrect use of prepositions(介词使用错误)

× I will invite them to my house, home if we want to discuss something or just the company from each other otherwise I would not because I hate cleaning up after the guests leave.

✓ I will invite them to my home if we want to discuss something or just enjoy each other's company; otherwise, I wouldn't, because I hate cleaning up after the guests leave.

表示彼此陪伴时,固定搭配是“enjoy each other's company”,不能说“the company from each other”。

26: Sentence structure errors(句子结构错误)

× So if I have to invite friends to the home, that I will do it otherwise.

✓ So if I have to invite friends home, I will do so; otherwise, I won't.

条件从句后不需要再用“that”引出主句;原句中的“that I will do it otherwise”结构也不完整。

27: Subject-verb agreement errors(主谓一致错误)

× And friends could be someone who give you a suggestion or you can confine your secrets to him or her.

✓ And a friend could be someone who gives you a suggestion or to whom you can confide your secrets.

26: Sentence structure errors(句子结构错误)

× So nowadays I think friends just kind of mean less and less important to me.

✓ So nowadays I think friends are becoming less and less important to me.

“mean”不能直接连接“less and less important”来表达“变得越来越不重要”。需要使用系动词结构“become + 形容词”。建议表达状态变化时使用“become”或“get”等系动词。

16: Incorrect conjunction use(连词使用错误)

× And even I want to buy something, I will just order everything from my phone and a click and a scent.

✓ And even if I want to buy something, I will just order it on my phone.

5: Past tense issue(过去时错误)

× Back to old previous days, my friend and I will hang out to buy purchase something together but this option is no longer required in my nowadays life.

✓ In the past, my friend and I would hang out to buy things together, but this is no longer part of my life nowadays.

“In the past”表示过去的习惯,不能搭配表示将来的“will”。

25: Comparative and superlative errors(比较级和最高级错误)

× So at present I do not hang out with my friend like as often as before.

✓ So at present I do not hang out with my friend as often as before.

“as often as”本身已经构成“和以前一样频繁”的比较结构,不需要再加“like”。建议记住“as + 副词/形容词 + as”的固定形式。

8: Verb + -ing form(动词-ing形式)

× So normally if we hang out with each other, it's all about talking, discussion and sharing the updates.

✓ So normally, if we hang out with each other, it's all about talking, discussing things, and sharing updates.

“about”是介词,后面适合接动名词;原句把动名词“talking”和名词“discussion”并列,形式不一致。建议并列列举活动时统一使用动名词形式。

26: Sentence structure errors(句子结构错误)

× But there would be some other options for example a nice restaurant like have a branch together.

✓ But there are some other options, for example, going to a nice restaurant where we can have brunch together.

“a nice restaurant like have...”

1: Singular and plural issue(单复数问题)

× That could be alternatives, but just a very quiet atmosphere environment that will be suitable for us to talk and discuss.

✓ That could be an alternative, but a very quiet environment would be suitable for us to talk and discuss.

“That”指单数的一种选择,因此表语也应使用单数“an alternative”,不能使用复数“alternatives”。建议检查主语所指的数量,并相应调整名词单复数。

1: Singular and plural issue(单复数问题)

× I think we just talk through and update each other's daily life now to see what we can do for the future.

✓ I think we just talk and update each other's daily lives to see what we can do for the future.

17: Incorrect use of the definite article(定冠词使用错误)

× I think we just talk through and update each other's daily life now to see what we can do for the future.

✓ I think we just talk and update each other's daily lives to see what we can do for the future.

固定表达是“for the future”,表示“为了将来”,需要在“future”前使用定冠词“the”。

12: Incorrect use of pronouns(代词使用错误)

× Three of them, they are actually middle school classmates.

✓ The three of them are actually middle-school classmates.

句首的“Three of them”已经充当主语,后面再用“they”造成主语重复。

11: Incorrect use of prepositions(介词使用错误)

× We have we've known each other from since then and we have been friends twenty years ago because I think we share the same personalities.

✓ We've known each other since then, and we've been friends for twenty years because I think we share the same personalities.

“since then”表示从过去某个时间一直持续到现在,不需要再加“from”;表示持续了多久则使用“for twenty years”。建议区分“since + 起点”和“for + 时长”。

6: Present tense issue(现在时错误)

× We have we've known each other from since then and we have been friends twenty years ago because I think we share the same personalities.

✓ We've known each other since then, and we've been friends for twenty years because I think we share the same personalities.

友谊从过去持续到现在,应使用现在完成时“have been friends”,并用“for twenty years”表示持续时间。“twenty years ago”通常指过去的某个时间点,不适合与持续至今的状态连用。

13: Incorrect use of adjectives or adverbs(形容词或副词使用错误)

× We are outgoings and we are extreme extrovert.

✓ We are outgoing and extremely extroverted.

“outgoing”是形容词,不需要加“-s”;修饰形容词“extroverted”时应使用副词“extremely”,而不是形容词“extreme”。建议区分形容词描述人或事物、副词修饰形容词的用法。
