Did you have a bike when you were a child?
Thí sinh
Yes I did. I had a bike when I was a child and I used to ride it quite often, especially during the summer holidays. I would usually ride around my neighborhood with my friends and sometimes we we would go to the nearby park. And looking back I think that thing was one of the best ways to spend my free time because it allowed me to get some exercise while having fun.

Thí sinh
Yes, I would say box are fairly popular in Uzbekistan, particularly among children and teenagers. They are convenient and relatively inexpensive way to get around, especially in smaller towns in quieter neighborhoods. That's it. I don't think cycling is common for communicating as it's uh, some European countries, mainly because of traffic, Rd. condition and lack of dedicated cycling lens in my areas.

Điểm: 86.0Gợi ý: Give a direct answer first, then add one or two specific supporting details. Your response is well developed and uses linking words such as “especially,” “sometimes,” and “because.” However, avoid repetition, such as “I had a bike when I was a child” after already saying “Yes, I did,” and remove the repeated “we.” The phrase “that thing” sounds unnatural; use “cycling” or “riding my bike” instead. Keep the answer to three or four sentences to make it more concise and natural.
Ví dụ: Yes, I did. I used to ride my bike quite often during the summer holidays, usually around my neighborhood with my friends. Sometimes, we cycled to a nearby park, so it was a fun way to exercise and spend time together.
Do you think bikes are popular in your country?
Điểm: 72.0Gợi ý: Your answer has a clear opinion and includes useful reasons, but there are several vocabulary and grammar problems. Say “bikes,” not “box”; “a relatively inexpensive way,” not “relatively inexpensive way”; and “cycling is not as common for commuting as it is in some European countries,” not “common for communicating as it’s some European countries.” Also use “road conditions” and “dedicated cycling lanes in my area.” Avoid saying “That’s it” and reduce hesitation markers such as “uh.” A clear contrast linker such as “However” would make the comparison more coherent.
Ví dụ: Yes, bikes are fairly popular in Uzbekistan, especially among children and teenagers. They are convenient and relatively inexpensive, particularly in smaller towns and quiet neighborhoods. However, cycling is not as common for commuting as it is in some European countries because of heavy traffic, poor road conditions, and the lack of dedicated cycling lanes.
× They are convenient and relatively inexpensive way to get around, especially in smaller towns in quieter neighborhoods.
✓ They are a convenient and relatively inexpensive way to get around, especially in smaller towns and quieter neighborhoods.
The singular countable noun phrase way requires an article. Use a because way is being mentioned generally, not as a specific previously identified way. The correction also uses the parallel phrase smaller towns and quieter neighborhoods.
× I don't think cycling is common for communicating as it's uh, some European countries, mainly because of traffic, Rd. condition and lack of dedicated cycling lens in my areas.
✓ I don't think cycling is as common for commuting as it is in some European countries, mainly because of traffic, road conditions, and a lack of dedicated cycling lanes in my area.
The phrase as it is in some European countries requires the preposition in because it refers to cycling in those countries. The original phrase as it's some European countries is missing in and has an incomplete comparison structure. In my area is the natural prepositional phrase for one location.
Road conditions and cycling lanes refer to multiple conditions and multiple lanes, so both nouns should be plural. Area is singular when referring to the speaker's local area. Also, commuting is the appropriate word for traveling regularly between home and work or school; communicating has a different meaning.
