Did you have a bike when you were a child?
Điểm: 48.0Gợi ý: Be clearer and more grammatical: start with a direct topic sentence that answers the question, then add one or two specific supporting details using linking words. Correct vocabulary (e.g. "training wheels" not "tights") and simple past tense for childhood events. Keep the response to no more than 4–5 sentences and use connectors like "then" or "after that" to sequence events.
Ví dụ: Yes, I did. I had two bicycles when I was a child. The first was a pink bike with training wheels, but I couldn't ride it properly. After that, I got a blue bike without training wheels, and I learned to ride it within a few weeks.
Do you think bikes are popular in your country?
Điểm: 52.0Gợi ý: Give a direct opinion first, then support it with specific reasons and a brief comparison. Fix grammar (use "are" and "more common"), and be precise about which countries you compare. Use linking words like "however" or "because" to show contrast. Keep to 2–4 sentences.
Ví dụ: I think bicycles are moderately popular in my country, but they are less common than in many European countries. This is mainly because Hong Kong is very densely populated and public transport is efficient, so people usually prefer buses and trains. However, cycling is becoming more popular for recreation and short commutes.
× I can't remember I have a tight bicycle when I was a child.
✓ I can't remember if I had a tricycle when I was a child.
Pronoun/connector error and tense mismatch: 'I can't remember I have' is incorrect; use 'if' to introduce the remembered fact and past tense 'had' to match 'when I was a child'. Also 'tight bicycle' is likely incorrect word choice; 'tricycle' fits a child's bike with three wheels. Suggestion: use 'if' and past tense verbs when referring to past memories.
× I remember there I got 2 bicycles in total.
✓ I remember that I got two bicycles in total.
Placement and number words: 'there I got' is awkward; use 'that I got' to link the memory. Write numbers as words in formal writing; 'two bicycles' is correct plural form. Suggestion: use 'that' to introduce clauses and ensure plural noun matches the numeral.
× The first one is is a pink bicycle with four tights and I don't really know how to ride a bicycle at that time.
✓ The first one was a pink bicycle with four wheels and I didn't really know how to ride a bicycle at that time.
Tense and word choice errors: The sentence refers to the past, so use past tense 'was' and 'didn't'. 'Four tights' is incorrect; the intended word is 'wheels' (or 'training wheels'). Suggestion: use past tense consistently for past events and choose correct vocabulary ('wheels' or 'training wheels').
× But after I got the blue one with two tights I am.
✓ But after I got the blue one with two wheels, I could ride it.
Incomplete sentence and tense/pronoun issues: 'I am' is incomplete and incorrect here. The meaning is that the student became able to ride after receiving the blue bike. Use past tense 'could ride it' or 'I learned to ride it.' Also replace 'tights' with 'wheels'. Suggestion: complete the clause with a proper verb and use past tense for past events.
× I think is quite popular but compared to other countries especially in America and European countries it might not be pretty com common I think as people in Hong Kong won't use bicycles to travel to different.
✓ I think they are quite popular, but compared to other countries, especially in America and European countries, they might not be very common because people in Hong Kong don't use bicycles to travel to different places.
Multiple errors: subject missing for 'is quite popular' (should be 'they are'), word order and redundancy ('pretty com common' is garbled; use 'very common'), tense/negation consistency ('won't' implies future; use 'don't' for general present habit), and missing noun 'places' after 'different'. Suggestion: include the subject, use correct adverb ('very'), use present simple for general facts ('don't use'), and complete the noun phrase ('different places').
