Did you have a bike when you were a child?

Thí sinh

When I was 2 I got my first bike that was gifted to me by my father and I still remember it was of a bright red color with a Mickey Mouse printer on the handle. I love that and I still have a good memory with that because that was first gifted by my dad and also it was just my first killer and my first bike as well. So yes, it is one of my greatest memory that I had in.

Part 1

Did you have a bike when you were a child?

Điểm: 62.0

Gợi ý: Be more concise, correct grammar, avoid repetition, and use clearer linking to structure the reply. Start with a direct topic sentence, then give two specific supporting details (appearance and emotional value). Also fix vocabulary mistakes ("killer" → likely "tricycle" or "toy"). Keep answers to no more than 4–5 sentences.

Ví dụ: Yes. I received my first bike from my father when I was two. It was bright red with a Mickey Mouse picture on the handlebar, and I loved how colorful it looked. That bike gave me a lot of happy memories because it was my first taste of independence and a special gift from my dad.

Do you think bikes are popular in your country?

Điểm: 68.0

Gợi ý: Reduce hesitations and filler words, give a clear topic sentence, then add two specific reasons using linking words (for example, "first," "also"). Use precise vocabulary (e.g., "widespread," "children of all ages"). Provide a short example or result to support the claim. Keep to 3–4 sentences.

Ví dụ: Yes, bikes are very popular in my country. Firstly, many parents buy bikes for their children to teach them balance and coordination. Also, riding a bike gives kids a sense of independence and a healthy way to travel locally, so you can see children and adults using bikes in parks and neighborhoods.

Ngữ pháp

Past tense issue

× When I was 2 I got my first bike that was gifted to me by my father and I still remember it was of a bright red color with a Mickey Mouse printer on the handle.

When I was two, I got my first bike as a gift from my father, and I still remember that it was bright red with a Mickey Mouse print on the handle.

The sentence mixes informal phrasing and awkward constructions. Use past simple consistently for past events ('got', 'remember'). 'That was gifted to me by my father' is wordy; 'as a gift from my father' is clearer. 'Bright red color' is redundant; use 'bright red'. 'Printer' is incorrect word choice; 'print' is the correct noun for a design on fabric or plastic. Also add commas for clarity.

Sentence structure errors

× I love that and I still have a good memory with that because that was first gifted by my dad and also it was just my first killer and my first bike as well.

I love that bike and I still have fond memories of it because it was the first gift from my dad, and it was my very first bike.

The original sentence is confusing and contains wrong word choice ('killer' is incorrect) and awkward phrasing ('have a good memory with that'). 'Fond memories of it' is the natural phrase. Replace 'first gifted by my dad' with 'the first gift from my dad'. Remove redundant 'as well' and incorrect word 'killer'.

Sentence structure errors

× So yes, it is one of my greatest memory that I had in.

So yes, it is one of my greatest memories.

The noun should be plural ('memories') and the phrase 'that I had in' is ungrammatical and unnecessary. Use simple, complete phrase 'one of my greatest memories'.

Incorrect use of prepositions

× Bikes can be seen, uh, very commonly, uh, with every uh, age group child in my, uh, place where I live uh, reason being because this is the first thing that the parents give to their child to uh, learn how to balance uh, a vehicle.

Bikes can be seen very commonly among children of every age group where I live, because parents often give them to their children to learn how to balance on a vehicle.

Preposition 'with' is incorrect for expressing distribution; use 'among' or 'among children'. 'Every age group child' is awkward; use 'children of every age group'. 'Place where I live' should be streamlined to 'where I live'. Use plural 'parents' give 'them' (children). 'Learn how to balance a vehicle' should be 'learn how to balance on a vehicle' or simply 'learn to balance'. Make verb forms consistent and remove filler words.

Incorrect use of pronouns

× And also it is, uh, it gives a sense of uh, independence. So I believe.

It also gives a sense of independence, so I think so.

Pronoun and subject repetition ('it is, uh, it gives') is redundant; simplify to 'It also gives'. The short phrase 'So I believe' is incomplete in conversational form; 'so I think so' or 'so I believe that' completes the thought. Maintain concise, complete sentence structure.
