What subjects are you studying?

Ví dụ: I’m studying music performance, which involves a lot of practical work. I spend several hours a day practising the piano, especially when I’m preparing for exams or competitions.
Do you like your subject?

Ví dụ: Yes, I really enjoy it. I started learning music when I was four, and it has become a central part of my life. I can’t imagine giving it up, so I hope to continue studying and performing throughout my life.
Why did you choose to study that subject?

Ví dụ: My mother signed me up for music classes when I was four, and I quickly became fascinated by music, especially classical music and jazz. That early experience inspired me to study music at university.
Do you think that your subject is popular in your country?
“过去很少有人学”可说“few people took lessons”;“private lessons were expensive”;“whiny”应确认是否想说“violin”。
Ví dụ: Yes, I think music has become more popular in my country. In the past, fewer people took lessons because private classes could be expensive and practising required a lot of time. These days, many people learn the piano or violin as a way to relax.
Do you have any plans for your studies in the next five years?
Điểm: 58.0Gợi ý: 计划有先后顺序,但“make a master's degree”应为“do/pursue a master’s degree”,“deepen my technique”可改为“improve my technique”。
Ví dụ: Yes. First, I hope to pursue a master’s degree in the UK to improve my musical technique. After that, I may study for a teaching qualification, as I’d eventually like to teach music at a university.
What are the benefits of being your age?
避免重复“a lot of”,并将“deepen our horizons”改为“broaden our horizons”;句首可直接说“Young people...”。
Ví dụ: One benefit of being my age is that we have easy access to information and learning opportunities. For example, the internet makes it simple to find tutorials and connect with people who share our interests. This can help us broaden our horizons.
Do you want to change your major?

How much time do you spend on your studies each week?

Ví dụ: I often use an app called Goodnotes when I study. I can upload my sheet music and write notes directly on it, which is very convenient. It also helps me organise my materials and practise more efficiently.
What changes would you like to see in your school?

Ví dụ: I’d like my school to provide faster and more reliable internet. The connection often breaks down, which makes it difficult to use apps like WeChat and QQ or access online study materials.
× Actually, when I was 4, my mother signed me up a music class and I was immersed into the world of music, especially classical music and jazz.
✓ Actually, when I was 4, my mother signed me up for a music class, and I was immersed in the world of music, especially classical music and jazz.
“sign someone up”后面表示报名参加某个课程时要用介词“for”;“immerse”表示“使沉浸于”时,通常搭配介词“in”,而不是“into”。
× That early experience inspired me to learn this major in my university.
✓ That early experience inspired me to learn this major at my university.
表示在某所大学学习时,通常用介词“at”,所以应将“in my university”改为“at my university”。
× In the past few people choose to learn music, pick house lessons more expensive and it always needed a lot of time to practice.
✓ In the past, few people chose to learn music. Private lessons were more expensive, and they always required a lot of time to practice.
“In the past”表示过去,因此一般过去时“chose”比现在时“choose”合适。原句中“pick house lessons more expensive”缺少清晰的主谓结构;改写后用“Private lessons were more expensive”构成完整句子。
× After that, I might pursue a diploma in music because I want to be a university teacher that really needs you have a diploma degree.
✓ After that, I might pursue a diploma in music because I want to be a university teacher who really needs you to have a diploma degree.
动词“needs”后接“you”作宾语时,后面的动词不定式需要带“to”,因此应说“needs you to have”,不能说“needs you have”。
× Actually, my age, I think we have a lot of opportunities for us to get a lot of information such as Internet and so on, because nowadays Internet has become more and more convenient.
✓ Actually, at my age, I think we have a lot of opportunities to get information from sources such as the Internet, because nowadays the Internet has become more and more convenient.
另外,“such as the Internet”举例说明信息来源时,补出“sources”能让句子结构更清楚。
× It has become a very important part of my life so I can't imagine I give it up.
✓ It has become a very important part of my life, so I can't imagine giving it up.
动词“imagine”后面可以接动名词,因此应使用“giving it up”,而不是“I give it up”。
× For me, I prefer studying in the morning because more concentrate on the work and I think it is more effective.
✓ For me, I prefer studying in the morning because I can concentrate more on my work, and I think it is more effective.
“because”引导的原因从句需要有主语和谓语。原句“more concentrate on the work”缺少主语;补上“I can”后,句子结构才完整。
× In the afternoon I always feel very sleepy so I sometimes need to have a small sleep in that time.
✓ In the afternoon, I always feel very sleepy, so I sometimes need to have a small sleep at that time.
表示“在那个时间”时通常用“at that time”,而不是“in that time”。
× I should study around 7 hours a day, so about 49 hours a week and that time suits me because if I start longer I will get tired and I if I started shorter I can't finish my homework on time.
✓ I study around 7 hours a day, so about 49 hours a week, and that amount of time suits me because if I study for longer, I will get tired, and if I study for less time, I can't finish my homework on time.
原句“and I if”语序错误,条件从句应直接以“if”开头。 “study for longer/less time”也能清楚表达学习时间更长或更短。
× Actually, I'm not really looking forward to working because I find it quite exhausting, especially with the stressful job.
✓ Actually, I'm not really looking forward to working because I find it quite exhausting, especially in a stressful job.
这里描述在某种工作环境中工作的感受,用“in a stressful job”比“with the stressful job”更合适。
× Also help me improve my practicing efficiency.
✓ It also helps me improve my practicing efficiency.
原句缺少主语,单独的“Also help me...”
× I would like my school to have faster and more stable Internet because the connection often broken so I can't open apps like WeChat and QQ or local information for my study.
✓ I would like my school to have faster and more stable Internet because the connection is often broken, so I can't open apps like WeChat and QQ or access local information for my study.
“connection”在原句中是“被弄断/被中断”的对象,因此需要使用被动语态。被动语态由“be动词 + 过去分词”构成,故应在“broken”前加“is”。
