Do you prefer sad or happy music?

Thí sinh

Oh, it totally depends on how I'm feeling that day. So I would say I'm more, uh, into happy music. Umm. One of my favorite artists is Ollie, which is an Italian musician. I love his music and it's usually happy music. But if I'm feeling sad and kind of want to get into my feelings, I just listen to sad music and Adele.

Giám khảo

Does happy music make you feel more excited?

Thí sinh

Oh, totally. I love listening to happy music when I'm going to to work. So when I'm in my car driving, it's usually a 20 minutes drive, uh by car. So I spend that time listening to happy music and singing in my car by myself. It's usually a good time and it boosts my energy ready to work.

Have you taken any music classes?

Thí sinh

Well, yes, uh, back in middle school, uh, I was into the, uh, school band and I played the guitar and actually I used to sing all the time with my twin sister. And funny story, we opened a YouTube channel, uh, where we used to sings a couple songs that we liked, but right now I don't play.

Do you listen to music while doing other things?

Thí sinh

I would say only when I'm driving or cleaning the house 'cause I'm not doing anything that needs me to be 100% focus. I mean driving of course, I just listen to the music, but when I'm studying or doing something else I cannot because it doesn't help me concentrate exactly on what I'm doing. So yes.

Do you prefer sad or happy music?

'however', 'for example'). Evita ripetizioni come 'um' e 'uh' e mantieni la risposta entro 3-4 frasi concise.

Ví dụ: I usually prefer happy music because it lifts my mood and helps me focus. For example, I often listen to Ollie, an upbeat Italian artist whose songs are energetic and cheerful. However, if I feel low, I switch to sad songs like Adele to reflect on my emotions.

Does happy music make you feel more excited?

'for instance', 'as a result'). Elimina ridondanze ('by car' ripetuto) e le esitazioni. Mantieni il discorso in 2-3 frasi chiare e coese.

Ví dụ: Yes, happy music definitely makes me more energetic. For instance, during my 20-minute drive to work I usually play upbeat songs and sing along, which boosts my mood and helps me start the day focused.

Have you taken any music classes?

'we used to sing', 'we opened a YouTube channel'). Usa un connettivo come 'for example' o 'however' per collegare le informazioni.

Ví dụ: Yes, I did. In middle school I joined the school band and played the guitar. For example, my twin sister and I used to sing together and even opened a YouTube channel where we posted covers, though I don't play much anymore.

Do you listen to music while doing other things?

Usa connettivi come 'because' o 'so' per chiarezza e correggi costruzioni imprecise ('I cannot' → 'I don't')

Ví dụ: Yes, but only for low-focus tasks like driving or cleaning. Because music distracts me when I need to concentrate, I avoid it while studying or working on important tasks.

Ngữ pháp

Verb in the -ing form

× So when I'm in my car driving, it's usually a 20 minutes drive, uh by car.

So when I'm driving, it's usually a 20-minute drive.

Inoltre 'in my car driving' è ridondante; 'when I'm driving' è più naturale. Suggerimento: usare 'when I'm driving' o 'on my 20-minute drive'.

Verb + -ing form

× So I spend that time listening to happy music and singing in my car by myself.

So I spend that time listening to happy music and singing by myself in the car.

L'ordine delle frasi migliora la chiarezza: 'singing by myself in the car' suona più naturale. Entrambe le azioni richiedono la forma in -ing dopo 'spend that time'.

Incorrect use of prepositions

× I love listening to happy music when I'm going to to work.

I love listening to happy music when I'm going to work.

Errore: 'to to' è un duplicato. Bisogna usare una sola 'to'. Suggerimento: rileggere per eliminare ripetizioni e usare 'going to work' senza doppio 'to'.

Singular and plural issue

× it's usually a 20 minutes drive, uh by car.

it's usually a 20-minute drive by car.

Verb in the past participle form

× we opened a YouTube channel, uh, where we used to sings a couple songs that we liked,

we opened a YouTube channel where we used to sing a couple of songs that we liked,

Dopo 'used to' il verbo deve essere nella forma base: 'sing', non 'sings'. Inoltre si richiede 'a couple of songs'. Suggerimento: usare 'used to' + base verbale e 'a couple of' per quantità.

Incorrect use of pronouns

× I mean driving of course, I just listen to the music, but when I'm studying or doing something else I cannot because it doesn't help me concentrate exactly on what I'm doing.

I mean driving, of course I just listen to music, but when I'm studying or doing something else I can't because it doesn't help me concentrate on what I'm doing.

Usare 'can't' al posto formale 'cannot' è accettabile, ma 'listen to the music' è più naturale come 'listen to music' (senza articolo). 'Concentrate exactly' è ridondante; 'concentrate on' è corretto.

Verb in the present participle form

× One of my favorite artists is Ollie, which is an Italian musician.

One of my favorite artists is Ollie, who is an Italian musician.

Per riferirsi a persone si usa 'who' e non 'which'. Suggerimento: usare 'who' per persone/con chiari riferimenti personali.

Present tense issue

× But if I'm feeling sad and kind of want to get into my feelings, I just listen to sad music and Adele.

But if I'm feeling sad and want to get in touch with my feelings, I just listen to sad music, like Adele.

'Get into my feelings' è informale e 'listen to sad music and Adele' sembra mettere 'Adele' come oggetto parallelo; meglio 'like Adele' o 'artists like Adele'. Suggerimento: usare 'like Adele' per chiarire che è un esempio e 'get in touch with my feelings' è più chiaro.

Third person singular issue

× I was into the, uh, school band and I played the guitar and actually I used to sing all the time with my twin sister.

I was in the school band; I played the guitar and I used to sing all the time with my twin sister.

Sentence structure errors

× And funny story, we opened a YouTube channel, uh, where we used to sings a couple songs that we liked, but right now I don't play.

Funny story: we opened a YouTube channel where we used to sing a couple of songs that we liked, but right now I don't play anymore.
