Thí sinh

When I was a kid, I was really fond of fast food, especially burgers and fried chicken. As I say, I also had a sweet too, so I ate a lot of ice cream and chocolate and candy. Looking back, my diet wasn't very healthy, but like many children, I prefer tasty food over nutritious meal.

Do you eat different foods at different times of the year?

Thí sinh

Not really, I am a spontaneous person but I think my food choice also depend on the weather. Like in the summer I usually eat live food like fruit ice cream because they are refreshing. Uh. In contrast, during winter I prefer hot dishes like uh hot pot or soup since they have missed they were.

Has your favourite food changed since you were a child?

Thí sinh

Yes, it has changed quite a bit. When I was younger I mostly enjoy junk food and sugary snack. Now I still like delicious food, but I pay more attention to eating balanced meal because I want to stay healthy. Even so, I still treat myself to fast food once in a while.

Ngữ pháp

Incorrect adverb placement

× I love how crispy is inside while staying.

I love how crispy it is on the inside while staying so.

The adverbial phrase 'on the inside' was misplaced and the sentence lacked the subject 'it' before 'is'. Correct word order is subject + verb + complement. Also 'staying' needs clearer connection; suggested 'while staying so' or better rephrase to 'while staying juicy' depending on intended meaning. Suggestion: use 'it is on the inside' for correct English.

Sentence structure errors

× You see in the inside is coming a variety of flavour but my favorite is umm garlic and butter sauce.

You see, a variety of flavors comes from the inside, but my favorite is garlic and butter sauce.

Original sentence has incorrect word order and lacks subject-verb agreement. 'A variety of flavors' is the subject and takes singular verb 'comes'. Also 'in the inside' should be 'from the inside' or 'on the inside'. Suggestion: place the subject before the verb and use 'from/on the inside' appropriately.

Incorrect use of articles

× I usually eat it with my friends on weekend because it make the meal more enjoyable.

I usually eat it with my friends on the weekend because it makes the meal more enjoyable.

Missing definite article 'the' before 'weekend' and subject-verb agreement error: 'it make' should be 'it makes'. Use 'the weekend' for general habitual actions and add -s for third person singular.

Verb in the past participle form

× What kind of food did you like when you were young?

What kind of food did you like when you were young?

This sentence is correct; the past tense question uses 'did' with base verb 'like'. No change needed.

Incorrect use of pronouns

× As I say, I also had a sweet too, so I ate a lot of ice cream and chocolate and candy.

As I said, I also had sweets, so I ate a lot of ice cream, chocolate, and candy.

Use past 'said' instead of present 'say' when referring to earlier speech. 'A sweet too' is awkward; use plural 'sweets'. Also use commas to separate items in a list.

Incorrect use of articles

× Looking back, my diet wasn't very healthy, but like many children, I prefer tasty food over nutritious meal.

Looking back, my diet wasn't very healthy, but like many children, I preferred tasty food over nutritious meals.

Tense inconsistency: referring to childhood should keep past tense 'preferred'. Also 'nutritious meal' should be plural 'nutritious meals' or 'a nutritious meal' depending on meaning; plural matches general idea.

Incorrect use of prepositions

× Not really, I am a spontaneous person but I think my food choice also depend on the weather.

Not really. I am a spontaneous person, but I think my food choices also depend on the weather.

Subject-verb agreement: 'choice' should be plural 'choices' to match context, and verb needs -s for third person singular 'depend' should be 'depend' because subject 'choices' is plural — keep 'depend'. Also add punctuation to separate clauses.

Incorrect use of adjectives or adverbs

× Like in the summer I usually eat live food like fruit ice cream because they are refreshing.

In the summer I usually eat light foods like fruit ice cream because they are refreshing.

'Live food' is incorrect; likely intended 'light food' or 'light foods'. Match plurality: 'foods' with 'they are'. Ensure adjective 'light' instead of 'live'.

Sentence structure errors

× Uh. In contrast, during winter I prefer hot dishes like uh hot pot or soup since they have missed they were.

In contrast, during winter I prefer hot dishes like hot pot or soup because they are warming.

Original ends with meaningless phrase 'they have missed they were'. Replace with clear reason 'because they are warming' or 'because they keep me warm'. Remove filler 'uh' for clarity.

Present tense issue

× Yes, it has changed quite a bit. When I was younger I mostly enjoy junk food and sugary snack.

Yes, it has changed quite a bit. When I was younger I mostly enjoyed junk food and sugary snacks.

Tense inconsistency: referring to past habits should use past simple 'enjoyed'. Also pluralize 'snacks' to match general category.

Incorrect use of adjectives or adverbs

× Now I still like delicious food, but I pay more attention to eating balanced meal because I want to stay healthy.

Now I still like delicious food, but I pay more attention to eating balanced meals because I want to stay healthy.

'Balanced meal' should be plural 'balanced meals' when talking generally. Maintain article usage for general statements.

Third person singular issue

× Even so, I still treat myself to fast food once in a while.

Even so, I still treat myself to fast food once in a while.

This sentence is grammatically correct. No change needed.
