× I think reading is a essential way to just improve my critical thinking.
✓ I think reading is an essential way to improve my critical thinking.
× Like I love to think something independently.
✓ For example, I love to think independently.
× With reading I can gain a lot of, uh, variety of opinions that I cannot get in other areas.
✓ With reading I can gain a wide variety of opinions that I cannot get in other areas.
“a lot of variety of”是冗余且搭配错误。应使用“a wide variety of”或“a lot of opinions”。建议使用固定搭配“a wide variety of”或直接说“a lot of opinions”。
× First, I find it better for my eyesight because long exposure to screens can be harmful to my eyes and 2nd, paper books give a more traditional and immersive reading experiences.
✓ First, I find it better for my eyesight because long exposure to screens can be harmful to my eyes, and secondly, paper books give a more traditional and immersive reading experience.
× The tactile feel and the lack of screen distraction help me concentrate better.
✓ The tactile feel and the lack of screen distraction help me concentrate better.
这里只列出以确认主谓一致正确:复合主语“the tactile feel and the lack of screen distraction”使用复数动词“help”是正确的。
× OK, during my studying period, I often read more carefully in the class because I need to figure out what the teacher's instructions and the knowledge on a paper.
✓ OK, during my study period, I often read more carefully in class because I need to understand the teacher's instructions and the material on the paper.
“studying period”非地道表达,改为“study period”或更自然的“when I'm studying”;“in the class”通常说“in class”;“figure out what the teacher's instructions and the knowledge on a paper”结构混乱,应分别表达“understand the teacher's instructions”和“the material on the paper”。
× But in my leisure time, I often read less carefully because I don't want to give that much pressure on me.
✓ But in my leisure time, I often read less carefully because I don't want to put that much pressure on myself.
动词搭配错误,“give pressure on me”不是自然表述。
× I prefer detailed reading. I think just simply scanning could not give you the skills if critical syncing and the other things like independently syncing it just give you a quick stimulation but not a deep comprehension.
✓ I prefer detailed reading. I think simply scanning cannot give you the skills for critical thinking and other things like independent thinking; it only gives you a quick stimulus but not deep comprehension.
多个问题:时态和情态动词使用不当(使用could not不符合一般陈述);词汇错误“critical syncing/independently syncing”应为“critical thinking/independent thinking”;“just simply”重复冗余;“stimulation”语义不准,应为“stimulus”或“a quick overview”。
