When do you need to read carefully, and when not?

Thí sinh

When I'm reading some important documents like contract official emails or school instructions, I need to read really carefully because every detail matters. But when I'm just reading for fun or for relaxation, I think it's not very necessary to read very carefully so that I can better unwind myself.

Do you prefer scanning or detailed reading?

Thí sinh

I think it depends on what I'm reading. For example, if I'm reading a very academic or fascinating passage or article, I may just read it in detail since I'm very interested in it. But if I'm just reading a small piece of entertainment passage, I will just scan them to get a mean idea.

Ngữ pháp

Present tense issue

× Reading is one of my favorite hobbies and it has become a part of my daily routine because I find reading can not only help me improve my language and vocabulary skills, it also expands my knowledge and broadens my horizon.

Reading is one of my favorite hobbies, and it has become a part of my daily routine because I find that reading can not only help me improve my language and vocabulary skills, but it also expands my knowledge and broadens my horizons.

问题类型:现在时/句子结构问题。解释:原句缺少连词“that”使从句连接不够自然,且并列结构中缺少并列连词“but”,导致句子衔接不顺。另“horizon”应为复数“horizons”。建议在类似句子中使用连接词(like 'that')引入宾语从句,使用并列连词连接两个并列谓语,并注意可数名词复数形式。

Incorrect adverb placement

× Personally, I still prefer to read on paper even though there are a lot of digital books nowadays because I think it's much healthier and more comfortable for my eyes and I also find myself concentrate better without any distractions come with the umm digital devices.

Personally, I still prefer to read on paper even though there are a lot of digital books nowadays because I think it's much healthier and more comfortable for my eyes, and I also find I concentrate better without any distractions that come with digital devices.

问题类型:副词/短语位置与从句结构问题。解释:原句中“I find myself concentrate better”结构错误,应该用“I find I concentrate better”或“I find myself concentrating better”。此外“come with the umm digital devices”缺少关系词,建议用“that come with digital devices”。去掉口头语“umm”。建议把动作进行形式或带ing形式放在正确位置,必要时使用关系代词连接定语从句。

Article errors

× When I'm reading some important documents like contract official emails or school instructions, I need to read really carefully because every detail matters.

When I'm reading some important documents like contracts, official emails, or school instructions, I need to read really carefully because every detail matters.

问题类型:冠词/复数形式错误。解释:原句中“contract official emails”缺少复数和并列标点,应为“contracts, official emails”。建议列举多项时每项都用正确的单数/复数形式并用逗号分隔。

Incorrect reflexive pronoun use

× But when I'm just reading for fun or for relaxation, I think it's not very necessary to read very carefully so that I can better unwind myself.

But when I'm just reading for fun or for relaxation, I think it's not necessary to read very carefully so that I can better unwind.

问题类型:反身代词使用不当。解释:动词“unwind”在这里不需要反身代词,直接用“unwind”即可,使用“unwind myself”在英语中不常见且冗余。建议去掉不必要的反身代词并避免重复的程度副词('not very necessary'可简化为'not necessary')。

Singular and plural issue

× I think it depends on what I'm reading. For example, if I'm reading a very academic or fascinating passage or article, I may just read it in detail since I'm very interested in it. But if I'm just reading a small piece of entertainment passage, I will just scan them to get a mean idea.

问题类型:单复数和词汇选择错误。解释:原句“a small piece of entertainment passage”结构冗余且混用单复数,且“scan them”与前文单数不一致,应用“scan it”。“mean idea”用词不当,应为“general idea”。建议保持主语和代词在数上一致,并使用正确固定搭配('a piece of'常接不可数名词,如 'entertainment',但这里更自然是直接用 'a small entertainment piece' 或简化为 'a small piece of entertainment',最终选择更自然表达)。
