Do you like reading?
Thí sinh
Oh my God, yes I do. I am a huge fan of reading actually, I like reading novels, especially like detective novels. I think it fascinates me, umm, because I, I am really curious to find out who actually can meet or who actually did it. So you know.

Do you prefer to read on paper or on a screen?
Thí sinh
MMM, I think both are fine for me. Umm, I think in recent years I've been getting used to reading in a screen, I guess because, umm, you know, I have been doing lots of online learning. So yeah, I'm pretty used to umm.

When do you need to read carefully, and when not?
Thí sinh
Well, usually I would need to read more carefully when I'm trying to find the details. Umm for instance like if I'm reading this literature review or articles and then I need to find a specific data then of course I will need to read in more details.

Do you prefer scanning or detailed reading?
Thí sinh
Well, I don't actually have a strong province for that because I think they serve different purposes. Like I think detailed reading is when you are trying to, you know, focusing on the details apparently. But if you are scheming, you probably just trying to grab the general idea.
Do you like reading?
(Oh my God, umm, you know),有语法和表达不准确(‘who actually can meet’ 应为 ‘who actually did it/ who the culprit is’),句子较冗长且重复。
Ví dụ: Yes, I love reading, especially detective novels. I find them fascinating because I enjoy guessing who the culprit is before the end. For example, I recently read Agatha Christie’s The Murder of Roger Ackroyd and was impressed by the surprising twist.
Do you prefer to read on paper or on a screen?
Ví dụ: I’m comfortable with both, but recently I prefer reading on a screen because most of my study materials are online. However, for long novels or when I need to annotate, I still like paper books because they’re easier on my eyes and better for taking notes.
When do you need to read carefully, and when not?
Ví dụ: I need to read carefully when I’m looking for specific information, for example when reviewing a literature review or checking data in an article. By contrast, I don’t read as carefully when I’m just skimming news headlines to get a general idea.
Do you prefer scanning or detailed reading?
Ví dụ: I don’t have a strong preference because they serve different purposes: detailed reading is useful when you need to understand arguments or study, whereas skimming is better for quickly finding the main idea, for example when browsing news or emails.
× I am a huge fan of reading actually, I like reading novels, especially like detective novels.
✓ I am a huge fan of reading. Actually, I like novels, especially detective novels.
× I think it fascinates me, umm, because I, I am really curious to find out who actually can meet or who actually did it.
✓ I think it fascinates me because I am really curious to find out who actually did it.
将句子精简为正确的宾语从句“who actually did it”。
× I think in recent years I've been getting used to reading in a screen, I guess because, umm, you know, I have been doing lots of online learning.
✓ I think in recent years I've been getting used to reading on a screen, I guess because I have been doing a lot of online learning.
介词应为“on a screen”而非“in a screen”,此外“lots of”在正式语境中改为“a lot of”更自然。
× So yeah, I'm pretty used to umm.
✓ So yeah, I'm pretty used to it.
× Well, usually I would need to read more carefully when I'm trying to find the details.
✓ Well, usually I need to read more carefully when I'm trying to find details.
× Umm for instance like if I'm reading this literature review or articles and then I need to find a specific data then of course I will need to read in more details.
✓ For instance, if I'm reading a literature review or articles and I need to find specific data, then of course I will need to read in more detail.
“this literature review or articles”中“this”与复数不搭配,改为“a literature review or articles”。 短语应为“read in more detail”而非“in more details”。
× Well, I don't actually have a strong province for that because I think they serve different purposes.
✓ Well, I don't actually have a strong preference for that because I think they serve different purposes.
× Like I think detailed reading is when you are trying to, you know, focusing on the details apparently.
✓ I think detailed reading is when you are trying to focus on the details.
动词短语时态混用,“trying to focusing”是错误的结构,应为“trying to focus”。
× But if you are scheming, you probably just trying to grab the general idea.
✓ But if you are scanning, you are probably just trying to grab the general idea.
