Not so much. I haven't learned about my hometown's history in a large scale because people tend to treasure what they don't have but often ignore what they already own. Same as me. But I know a little bit about my hometown. For example, it is the birth place of a famous Chinese poet called Li Bai.
Giám khảo
Did you learn about the culture of your hometown in your childhood?
Thí sinh
Yes, I learned traditional customs from my parents, relatives and teachers. For example, it is very common for Chinese people to gather and have dinner together on a Spring Festival day. But the time of gathering in our hometown is very different from other places in China. We have it during lunch time.

Giám khảo
How long have you been living there?
Thí sinh
I've been living in my hometown for 18 years before I went to my university, so I'm quite familiar with it. I know every street quite familiarly so I can get around quickly because I know the shortcuts and the main land box of the city.

Giám khảo
Are there many young people in your hometown?
Thí sinh
I don't think so. Even though I didn't make a census, I observed that people aged 18 to 30 are rarer to see compared with big cities like Shanghai or Beijing. I think the reason for that is people exploring their job opportunities or study opportunities in big cities.
Giám khảo
Is your hometown a good place for young people to pursue their careers?
Thí sinh
No, I don't think so because my hometown is a quite small place with basic and low salary jobs and most of them are much less demanding than the jobs in big cities with high tech. So I don't think it's a good place and ideal condition for younger people to sharpen their skill set for career prospects.

✓ My hometown is in the southwestern part of China, and it is actually a basin. It's very special in terms of weather because it's wet, so people there like to eat spicy food to get rid of moisture.
“because”和“so”不能在同一个因果结构中重复表达“因为……所以……”。这里保留“because”说明原因,并用句号把前面的信息分开。
× It is actually a small place because it's a ton attributed to a city actually, so it is relatively small compared to like city Shanghai or Beijing.
