Bike— Part 1 採点レポート

提案: Answer directly, then add one specific detail to develop your response, such as when you used the bike or what you enjoyed about it. Avoid repeating the idea in “Yes, I did have a bike.”

例: Yes, I did. I got my first bike when I was about eight, and I used to ride it around my neighborhood with my friends.

提案: Use a natural phrase such as “I’m pretty sure” or “I think,” and say “bicycles are very popular.” Support your opinion with a clear example, but avoid claiming that every person had a bike unless you are certain. Add a detail about how people use bikes today to connect your example more clearly to the question.

例: Yes, I think bicycles are very popular in my country. When I was growing up, many of my friends had one, and we often rode around together after school. These days, people also use bikes for commuting and exercise.

× Yes, I'm pretty much sure the bikes are very much popular in my country.

✓ Yes, I'm pretty sure bikes are very popular in my country.

Use pretty sure rather than pretty much sure, and very popular rather than very much popular. Very is the natural adverb to intensify the adjective popular. Also, bikes refers to bikes in general, so the is not needed here; this is an article error (Type 17).
