Bike— Part 1 採点レポート

提案: Your answer is grammatically correct and directly answers the question, but it simply repeats the wording of the question. Add one or two specific details, such as when you got the bike, how often you used it, or what you used it for. Use a linking word such as “because” or “especially” to make the answer more developed, while keeping it within two or three sentences.

例: Yes, I had a bike when I was a child. I got it when I was about seven, and I often rode it around my neighborhood with my friends, especially at weekends.

提案: Your main idea is understandable, but the answer is somewhat contradictory and the phrase “not really popular” is vague. Clearly state your opinion first, then explain the difference between owning a bike and using it regularly. Add a specific reason, such as heavy traffic, safety concerns, or limited cycling lanes, and use a linking word like “although” or “because” to connect your ideas.

例: I wouldn’t say bikes are particularly popular in my country. Although many people own one, most of them don’t use it regularly because the roads are busy and there aren’t enough dedicated cycling lanes.

× Not particularly. I mean so many people have them but not really popular.

✓ Not particularly. I mean, so many people have them, but they are not really popular.

The phrase but not really popular is missing a subject and a verb, so it is not a complete clause. Add they are to make the sentence grammatically complete. The pronoun they refers to bikes.
