Bike— Part 1 採点レポート

提案: Your answer does not respond to the question. Give a direct topic sentence stating whether you had a bike, then add one or two brief supporting details (where, who with, how often) using linking words. Keep it natural and under five sentences.

例: Yes, I did have a bike when I was a child. I got it from my parents for my eighth birthday, and I used to ride it to school and around the neighborhood every day. Because my street was quiet, I felt safe practicing tricks with my friends.

提案: The answer is short and contains grammatical errors. Start with a clear topic sentence (Yes/No + brief reason), then add one specific supporting detail or example using a linking word. Use correct agreement and natural phrasing, and keep it within five sentences.

例: Yes, bikes are very popular in my country because many people find them an inexpensive and healthy way to travel. For example, in cities many commuters use bicycles for short trips, and there are also many cycling clubs and weekend events that encourage riding.

× Yes, of course, it's a very popular.

✓ Yes, of course, they're very popular.

The student used 'it's a very popular', which incorrectly uses the singular pronoun 'it' and the adjective 'popular' without a noun. The question asks about 'bikes' (plural), so the correct subject is 'they' referring to bikes. Use the plural verb 'are' and the adjective 'popular' without 'a'. Suggestion: match the pronoun and verb to the plural noun (bikes → they are) and omit the indefinite article when using an adjective predicatively (they are popular).
