Part 1
試験官
Is it easy for you to remember people's names?
受験者
No, not really. Maybe I'm not born for this task because I can't remember properly my teacher's name, my friend's name, my neighbor's name, or even my relatives names. It's really hard for me and there's always an awkward silence when I try to remember. How do I call them?
試験官
How do you remember people's names?
受験者
For me, it's not easy to remember people's name. However, it is about the best way to remember people's name. I think that I need to talk to strangers as much as I can and we have to share something with with each other for me to remember who they are.
試験官
How do you feel when people can't remember your name?
受験者
That's definitely a pity when people cannot remember my name when talking to me. However, I always try my best to understand and tolerate them because it's not a big deal. I think that I will ask them why won't they remember my name? They must have a reason for it.
試験官
Do you often forget people's names?
受験者
Certainly no. When I have remembered someone's name by my heart, I can not forget their name. However, I easily miss name someone in the middle of a conversation, so that's a little bit awkward for me and the opponent.
Is it easy for you to remember people's names?
例: Not really. I usually struggle to remember people’s names, which often causes an awkward pause when I try to recall them. For example, I sometimes forget a neighbour's name even after meeting them several times.
How do you remember people's names?
スコア: 55.0提案: Cần cấu trúc rõ ràng: một câu chủ đề nói phương pháp chính, sau đó dùng 1-2 chi tiết cụ thể hoặc ví dụ. Tránh mâu thuẫn ("not easy" vs "best way"). Dùng liên từ như "for example" hoặc "also" và sửa lỗi ngữ pháp (plural/singular, double words).
例: I usually try to connect a person's name with a detail about them. For example, if I meet a teacher named John who likes gardening, I might think "John the gardener" so I remember him later.
How do you feel when people can't remember your name?
スコア: 65.0提案: Trả lời trực tiếp, dùng cảm xúc và lý do cụ thể. Tránh câu hỏi phức tạp về mặt ngữ pháp; dùng cấu trúc tự nhiên hơn (ví dụ "I feel...", "I try to..."). Thêm ví dụ cụ thể hoặc thái độ (ví dụ: I forgive them, I remind them politely).
例: I feel a little disappointed at first, but I usually stay understanding. For instance, I might gently say "Don't worry, my name is Anna" so the conversation can continue comfortably.
Do you often forget people's names?
Tránh cụm từ lạ như "by my heart"; dùng "memorized" hoặc "remembered".
例: Not really—I rarely completely forget a name once I’ve memorized it. However, I sometimes draw a blank during a conversation, for example when nervous, and that can feel awkward.
× Maybe I'm not born for this task because I can't remember properly my teacher's name, my friend's name, my neighbor's name, or even my relatives names.
✓ Maybe I wasn't born for this task because I can't properly remember my teacher's name, my friend's name, my neighbor's name, or even my relatives' names.
Gợi ý: dùng 'I wasn't born for this task' hoặc thay bằng 'I wasn't made for this task' và đặt trạng từ hợp lý: 'I can't properly remember...'.
× How do I call them?
✓ How do I address them?
'Call' with 'how' plus object is unnatural khi hỏi cách xưng hô; trong ngữ cảnh muốn hỏi 'gọi họ như thế nào' nên dùng 'address' hoặc 'refer to them'. Gợi ý: dùng 'How should I address them?' hoặc 'What should I call them?'. 'How do I call them?' có thể hiểu nhưng là cấu trúc không chính xác theo chuẩn Anh ngữ.
× For me, it's not easy to remember people's name.
✓ For me, it's not easy to remember people's names.
× However, it is about the best way to remember people's name.
✓ However, here is a good way to remember people's names.
Câu gốc 'it is about the best way' cấu trúc không tự nhiên và gây nhầm lẫn. Cần làm rõ chủ ngữ 'here is' hoặc 'this is', và sửa 'people's name' thành 'people's names'. Gợi ý: 'However, here is a good way to remember people's names' hoặc 'However, this is perhaps the best way to remember people's names'.
× I think that I need to talk to strangers as much as I can and we have to share something with with each other for me to remember who they are.
✓ I think that I need to talk to strangers as much as I can and share something with each other so that I can remember who they are.
Câu gốc dùng 'and we have to share' lặp ý không mượt và 'with with' là lỗi gõ. Cần dùng liên từ mục đích 'so that' hoặc cấu trúc 'for me to' nhưng tránh lặp. Gợi ý: '...and share something with each other so that I can remember who they are.'
× That's definitely a pity when people cannot remember my name when talking to me.
✓ That's definitely a pity when people cannot remember my name while talking to me.
× I think that I will ask them why won't they remember my name?
✓ I think that I will ask them why they won't remember my name.
Trong mệnh đề tường thuật phụ ('I will ask them why...') không dùng đảo ngữ nghi vấn; câu hỏi trực tiếp 'Why won't they remember my name?' khi đưa vào câu tường thuật phải chuyển sang trật tự thường 'why they won't...'. Gợi ý: dùng 'I will ask them why they won't remember my name.' hoặc 'I will ask them why they can't remember my name.'
× When I have remembered someone's name by my heart, I can not forget their name.
✓ Once I have remembered someone's name by heart, I cannot forget it.
Cụm 'remembered by my heart' là sai; idiom đúng là 'remember by heart' (không có 'my'). Cũng cần dùng 'cannot' viết liền hoặc 'can't'. 'Their name' nên thay bằng 'it' khi nói về 'someone's name' để tránh số nhiều-lẻ không rõ. Gợi ý: 'Once I have remembered someone's name by heart, I cannot forget it.'
× However, I easily miss name someone in the middle of a conversation, so that's a little bit awkward for me and the opponent.
✓ However, I easily call someone by the wrong name in the middle of a conversation, so that's a little bit awkward for me and the other person.
Cần dùng cụm động từ 'call someone by the wrong name' hoặc 'mix up someone's name'. 'Opponent' không phù hợp trong giao tiếp xã hội; dùng 'other person' hoặc 'listener'. Gợi ý: 'I easily call someone by the wrong name' hoặc 'I often mix up people's names in the middle of a conversation'.
