Bike— Part 1 Informe

Sugerencia: Answer in the past tense because the question is about your childhood. Say “No, I didn’t” rather than “No, I don’t have,” and add a brief reason or detail to make your response more complete.

Ejemplo: No, I didn’t have a bike when I was a child. My family lived in a busy area, so I usually walked or took the bus.

Sugerencia: Use the plural form to talk about bikes in general: “Bikes are popular in my country.” Avoid “a popular,” since “popular” is an adjective, not a noun. Add a specific reason or example to support your opinion.

Ejemplo: Yes, bikes are quite popular in my country, especially in smaller cities. They’re an affordable and convenient way to get around, and many people use them for commuting.

× No, I don't have.

✓ No, I didn't.

The question asks about the past: Did you have a bike when you were a child? Use the past-tense auxiliary didn't in the answer. Since have is understood from the question, you can say No, I didn't.

× Yes, it's a popular in our country.

✓ Yes, they are popular in our country.

Bikes is plural, so the pronoun should be they, not it. Use the plural verb are to agree with they.

× Yes, it's a popular in our country.

✓ Yes, they are popular in our country.

Do not use a before the adjective popular when it is not followed by a singular countable noun. Here, popular describes bikes, so say they are popular.
