Bike— Part 1 Informe

Sugerencia: Complete the sentence by stating what kind of bike you had and, if possible, add one specific detail about using it. Avoid ending with an incomplete phrase. A direct answer followed by a brief reason or example would sound more natural.

Ejemplo: Yes, I had a bicycle when I was a child. I usually rode it around my neighborhood after school, and I really enjoyed it because it gave me a sense of freedom.

Sugerencia: Answer the question directly and distinguish between bicycles and motorcycles, since “bike” can refer to either one. Avoid repetition and incorrect word combinations such as “very famous popular” and “drive bike.” Use linking words to connect your opinion with a specific reason or personal example. Say “ride a motorcycle” rather than “drive a bike.”

Ejemplo: Yes, motorcycles are very popular in my country, especially among people who commute to work. They are convenient and more affordable than cars, and I also ride one because I have a license and enjoy traveling around the city.

× Yeah, I used to have

✓ Yeah, I used to have a bike.

The response is incomplete because the verb phrase used to have needs an object. Since the question asks about a bike, add a bike to complete the sentence.

× motorcycle is very famous popular in our country

✓ Motorcycles are very popular in our country.

Motorcycle refers to motorcycles in general, so the plural form motorcycles is needed. The plural subject also requires the plural verb are.

× motorcycle is very famous popular in our country

✓ Motorcycles are very popular in our country.

The plural subject motorcycles must agree with the plural verb are, not the singular verb is.

× very famous popular

✓ very popular

Famous and popular have overlapping meanings in this context, so using both is redundant. Use very popular to express that motorcycles are liked or widely used.

× I do also have bike

✓ I also have a bike.

The adverb also normally comes before the main verb have. The auxiliary do is unnecessary in this affirmative sentence.

× I do also have bike

✓ I also have a bike.

A singular countable noun such as bike needs an article. Use a because the bike has not been mentioned before.

× I do have license

✓ I have a license.

License is a singular countable noun, so it needs the indefinite article a. The auxiliary do is unnecessary in this affirmative sentence.

× I like to drive bike

✓ I like to ride a motorcycle.

In standard English, we usually say ride a motorcycle rather than drive a motorcycle. The article a is also required before the singular countable noun motorcycle.

× Yeah, motorcycle is very famous popular in our country and I do also have bike, I do have license and I like to drive bike

✓ Yeah, motorcycles are very popular in our country. I also have a bike, I have a license, and I like to ride a motorcycle.

The original answer joins several independent ideas with commas, creating a run-on sentence. Separate the first idea with a full stop and use commas to separate the items in the final list.
