Bike— Part 1 Report

Suggestion: Your answer is grammatically correct and directly answers the question, but it is very brief. Add one relevant detail, such as why you did not have a bike or how you got around as a child.

Example: No, I didn't have a bike when I was a child. My family lived near my school, so I usually walked there.

Suggestion: Answer directly, then support your opinion with a specific reason or example. Avoid repeating “popular,” and correct the subject–verb agreement: say “everyone has one.” You could also use a more specific phrase than “it,” such as “cycling” or “bikes.”

Example: Yes, I do. Bikes are popular in my country because they are an affordable way to get around. For example, many people use them for short journeys to work or school.

× Yeah, I do because it is really popular in my country and everyone have one.

✓ Yeah, I do because they are really popular in my country and everyone has one.

The pronoun it is singular, but it refers to bikes, which is plural. Use they to agree with bikes, and use are with they.

× Yeah, I do because it is really popular in my country and everyone have one.

✓ Yeah, I do because they are really popular in my country and everyone has one.

Everyone is grammatically singular, so its verb must take the third-person singular form. Change have to has. Remember that words such as everyone and somebody take singular verbs.
