Bike— Part 1 Report

Suggestion: Use the past tense consistently because the question refers to your childhood: say “had” instead of “have.” Answer directly and add one specific detail, such as how often you used the bike or where you rode it.

Example: Yes, I had a bike when I was a child. I often rode it around my neighborhood after school, and I really enjoyed exploring the area with my friends.

Suggestion: Avoid repetition and correct the phrase “most of the people have have.” Use “Most people have their own bikes.” You could make the answer more effective by explaining why bikes are popular, using a linking word such as “because” or “also.”

Example: Yes, bikes are quite popular in my country. Most people have their own bikes because they are affordable and convenient for short trips. They are also a common form of transportation for students.

× Yes, I have a bike when I was a child.

✓ Yes, I had a bike when I was a child.

The phrase when I was a child refers to a completed period in the past, so the past tense had is required instead of the present perfect form have.

× Most of the people have have their own bikes.

✓ Most people have their own bikes.

The verb have is repeated, which creates an incorrect sentence structure. Use have only once. Most people is also the more natural expression when speaking generally about people in a country.
