Conversation

Part 1

Examiner

Do you look out the window at the scenery when travelling by bus or car?

Candidate

Oh my God, you just literally read into my mind. I am so much in favor of doing that. I find that it is kind of the only thing you can do on a bus because you can't focus on your phone. It makes me dizzy and the scenery outside is so amazing and that's the best thing I can do on my bus.

Examiner

Do you take photos of the scenery outside the car window?

Candidate

Well, yeah, from time to time I think maybe, yeah. But sometimes I don't actually do that because I find that trying to find a best angle to present the photo with my camera will sort of distract me from enjoying the scene scenery by.

Examiner

Do you prefer the mountains or the sea?

Candidate

And I feel like I am more of a sea person and it's perhaps because I live in the seaside area. So when I was a child growing up, I always saw the sea tide, you know, coming up and down and yeah.

Part 1

Do you look out the window at the scenery when travelling by bus or car?

Score: 74.0

Suggestion: 回答自然,但有些口語化和冗長(例如“Oh my God”和多次重複觀點)。應更直接地給出主題句,並用1–2個具體細節支持。避免非正式語氣,控制句子數量(不超過5句)。可以使用連接詞(e.g. because, so, therefore)使邏輯更連貫。

Example: Yes, I usually look out of the window when I travel by bus or car because it helps me relax and prevents motion sickness from focusing on my phone. For example, I enjoy watching changing landscapes like city streets and countryside fields, which makes the journey feel shorter. Therefore, looking outside is my preferred way to pass time while travelling.

Do you take photos of the scenery outside the car window?

Score: 68.0

Suggestion: 回答含糊且有重複(多次“yeah”與“maybe”),語法不夠緊湊。應直接表明頻率(e.g. sometimes / often)並給出具體原因或例子,使用連接詞如“but”或“because”來組織理由,同時注意語法(避免片語重複,如“scene scenery”)。

Example: Sometimes I take photos of the scenery, but not always, because I prefer to enjoy the moment rather than spend time finding the perfect angle. For instance, on a short trip I might quickly snap a picture of an interesting skyline, but on a peaceful coastal drive I usually just watch the view without taking photos.

Do you prefer the mountains or the sea?

Score: 76.0

Suggestion: 答案表達清楚但語氣不夠正式,並包含填充詞(例如“and”,“you know”,“yeah”)。應給出一個明確的主題句,然後用1–2個具體細節說明偏好來源(如童年經歷、活動或感受),避免冗長。

Example: I prefer the sea because I grew up near the coast and have many fond memories of watching the tides. For example, as a child I often played on the beach and listened to the waves, so the sea feels relaxing and familiar to me.

Grammar

8: Verb + -ing form

× I am so much in favor of doing that.

I am very much in favor of doing that.

主要是用词问题和习惯搭配。“so much in favor of”不如“very much in favor of”更自然。此处不属于语法结构错误,只需将“so much”换为更地道的“very much”。建议多记常用搭配。

6: Present tense issue

× I find that it is kind of the only thing you can do on a bus because you can't focus on your phone.

I find that it is kind of the only thing you can do on a bus because you can't focus on your phone while moving.

原句时态总体正确,但信息不完整导致意思不清,“can't focus on your phone”后面常加原因或时间状语(如“while moving”)。建议在表达原因时补足时间或情境。

13: Incorrect use of adjectives or adverbs

× It makes me dizzy and the scenery outside is so amazing and that's the best thing I can do on my bus.

It makes me dizzy, and the scenery outside is so amazing; that's the best thing I can do on the bus.

句子需注意标点和冠词用法(“on my bus”通常说“on the bus”更自然),以及连接词使用使句意更清晰。建议使用合适的冠词并用分号或连词分隔独立分句。

11: Incorrect use of prepositions

× Do you take photos of the scenery outside the car window?

Do you take photos of the scenery outside the car window?

此句本身正确,无需更改。保留原句。

26: Sentence structure errors

× Well, yeah, from time to time I think maybe, yeah.

Well, yeah, from time to time I do, I think.

原句为口语重复且结构松散。将其整理为更完整的句子更清晰:引出肯定(Well, yeah),说明频率(from time to time),并用助动词“do”代替模糊的“maybe, yeah”。建议减少重复词语并保持句子完整。

26: Sentence structure errors

× But sometimes I don't actually do that because I find that trying to find a best angle to present the photo with my camera will sort of distract me from enjoying the scene scenery by.

But sometimes I don't actually do that because I find that trying to find the best angle to take the photo with my camera distracts me from enjoying the scenery.

错误点: - 冠词和词序:“a best angle”应为“the best angle”。 - 动词搭配:“present the photo”不如“take the photo”自然。 - 多余词语:“scene scenery by”重复且不正确,应为“scenery”。 - 时态和语态:将“will sort of distract me”改为一般现在时“distracts me”,因为说的是经常发生的情况。建议注意冠词用法、固定搭配(take a photo/ take the photo)及避免冗余词。

6: Present tense issue

× And I feel like I am more of a sea person and it's perhaps because I live in the seaside area.

I feel like I'm more of a sea person, perhaps because I live in a seaside area.

主要是表达更自然的时态与词序:将“it's perhaps because”精简为“perhaps because”,并把“the seaside area”改为更自然的“a seaside area”或“by the sea”。建议在口语中使用更简洁的连接结构。

5: Past tense issue

× So when I was a child growing up, I always saw the sea tide, you know, coming up and down and yeah.

When I was growing up, I always saw the tide coming in and out.

修改要点: - 简化时间状语“when I was a child growing up”为“When I was growing up”更自然。 - 词汇搭配:“sea tide”常直接说“tide”;“coming up and down”更地道的是“coming in and out”。 - 省略口语填充“you know, ... and yeah”。建议学习更地道的固定搭配并减少口语填充词。
