Part 1

What is your favourite food?

Score: 62.0

Suggestion: Be more concise and correct grammar. Start with a clear topic sentence, then give one or two specific reasons using linking words. Correct subject-verb agreement and reduce repetition.

Example: My favourite food is pizza. I especially like it because of the melted cheese and tangy tomato sauce, and there are many topping combinations to try. For example, I enjoy a pizza with mushrooms and olives because it balances savoury and fresh flavours.

What kind of food did you like when you were young?

Score: 55.0

Suggestion: Use past tense consistently and combine short sentences into a coherent response. Provide specific examples and a linking word to explain why you liked that food.

Example: When I was young I mostly ate vegetarian dishes, such as tofu and stir-fried mushrooms. Because they were healthy and easy to digest, my family served them often, and I still enjoy them now for the same reasons.

Do you eat different foods at different times of the year?

Score: 58.0

Suggestion: Make your answer directly address seasonal differences; correct awkward phrasing and add linking words. Mention specific seasonal foods or occasions to make your answer more relevant and detailed.

Example: Yes, I do eat different foods at different times of the year. For example, during the rainy season I prefer hot soups and noodles, while in summer I often eat lighter dishes like salads. However, I usually eat Thai food most days because it is my national cuisine.

Has your favourite food changed since you were a child?

Score: 50.0

Suggestion: Answer clearly with correct tense and avoid fragmented phrases. State what changed and give a reason using linking words. Be specific about which foods changed and why.

Example: Yes, my favourite food has changed. When I was a child I ate Korean instant noodles almost every day, but now I avoid them because they are unhealthy and high in sodium. Instead, I prefer homemade dishes that are more balanced.

Grammar

Singular and plural issue

× ...pizza have so many flavor as well.

...pizza has so many flavors as well.

The subject 'pizza' is singular so the verb should be 'has' (subject-verb agreement). Also 'flavor' should be plural 'flavors' when referring to many varieties. Suggestion: use 'has' with singular nouns and pluralize countable nouns when referring to multiple items.

Present tense issue

× When I was young, I mostly eat vegetarian.

When I was young, I mostly ate vegetarian food.

The time expression 'When I was young' sets the sentence in the past, so the verb should be past tense 'ate' rather than present 'eat'. Also add 'food' or 'diets' after 'vegetarian' to make the noun phrase complete. Suggestion: match verb tense to time markers and include necessary nouns.

Sentence structure errors

× I eat tofu.

I ate tofu.

Given the past time frame 'When I was young', the verb should be past tense 'ate'. The original present tense 'eat' conflicts with the past time marker. Suggestion: make verb tense consistent with temporal context.

Sentence structure errors

× We get to bowl mushroom.

We got to bowl mushrooms.

The sentence is unclear and ungrammatical. Interpreting intended meaning: past tense 'got to' rather than 'get to', and 'mushroom' should be plural 'mushrooms' if referring to multiple. If 'bowl' was intended as 'bowl of', correct form would be 'We got bowls of mushrooms.' Suggestion: use clear noun phrases and correct past tense.

Incorrect use of pronouns

× So this thing is good for health.

So this is good for your health.

'This thing' is vague; 'this' or 'this food' is clearer. Use the possessive 'your health' to indicate benefit to the listener or person. Also in natural English use 'good for your health.' Suggestion: replace vague pronouns and use appropriate possessive.

Present tense issue

× And recently I still eat them.

And recently I still eat them.

The sentence is grammatically acceptable but slightly unnatural; keep present simple 'eat' for habitual action. No change required for grammar; consider 'I still eat them' without 'recently' or 'Recently, I have still been eating them' for improved style. Suggestion: use 'I still eat them' or 'Recently, I've still been eating them.'

Incorrect use of pronouns

× I I like it, it's good for health and it's easy to eat.

I like it; it's good for your health and easy to eat.

Remove duplicate 'I'. Use 'your health' rather than 'health' alone. The second clause can omit 'it's' before 'easy' for concision. Suggestion: avoid repeated words and use correct possessive for 'health.'

Sentence structure errors

× I in different schools often.

I studied at different schools often.

The original lacks a main verb and is ungrammatical. To convey attending various schools, use 'studied at' or 'went to' followed by 'different schools'. Suggestion: include an appropriate verb and preposition: 'I often studied at different schools.'

Incorrect use of adverbs

× Sometime I eat Japanese food, sometime I eat Chinese food,

Sometimes I eat Japanese food; sometimes I eat Chinese food,

The adverb should be 'sometimes' (plural) not 'sometime'. Use punctuation to separate clauses. Suggestion: use 'sometimes' to mean 'on some occasions.'

Present tense issue

× but mostly I eat Thai food because I'm Thai so I can eat Thai food everyday.

but mostly I eat Thai food because I'm Thai, so I can eat Thai food every day.

'Every day' should be two words as an adverbial phrase. Commas improve readability. The tense 'eat' is acceptable for habitual action. Suggestion: write 'every day' as two words and add punctuation for clarity.

Singular and plural issue

× Yes some my favorite food chain since I was young such as Korean noodle when I was young.

Yes, some of my favorite foods since I was young were dishes like Korean noodles.

Several issues: 'some my' should be 'some of my'; 'favorite food' should be plural 'foods' when listing multiple items; 'food chain' is incorrect contextually—likely 'foods' or 'dishes'; verb tense should be past 'were' to match 'since I was young' when referring to past preferences; 'Korean noodle' should be plural 'Korean noodles' or 'a Korean noodle dish.' Suggestion: use 'some of my favorite foods since I was young were...' and pluralize countable nouns.

Present tense issue

× I like it a lot and I eat almost everyday but for now I change because I know this menu is bad for health is.

I liked it a lot and I ate it almost every day, but now I have changed because I know this dish is bad for my health.

The time frame shifts: when referring to past habit, use past tense 'liked' and 'ate'. 'Almost every day' should be three words separated, and 'for now I change' is incorrect; use 'now I have changed' or 'now I have stopped eating it.' 'This menu is bad for health is' is ungrammatical; use 'this dish is bad for my health.' Suggestion: keep verb tenses consistent with the time referenced, use 'dish' or 'food' instead of 'menu' for a single item, and include possessive 'my health.'
