Conversation

Part 1

Examiner

Do you like chatting with friends?

Candidate

It depends on situation. If I have a lot of things in my mind, I prefer to choose friends to talk with and ask them for suggestions. Otherwise I prefer to handle them alone.

Examiner

What do you usually chat about with friends?

Candidate

I usually chat about a lot of topics, umm, for example, we often chat about, umm, daily lives and uh, special personal experiences. But sometimes we also talk about some social issues such as, uh, economical issues and uh, political events.

Examiner

Do you prefer to chat with a group of people or with only one friend?

Candidate

I definitely prefer to chat with only one friend because facing with a lot of people can overwhelm me, but chat with only one friend can makes me relaxed and willing to talk as much as I want.

Examiner

Do you prefer to communicate face-to-face or via social media?

Candidate

In my opinion, it depends on the situation. For general or casual topics, communicating via social media is fine because it's convenient and free. But if there are some emergent and important issues, I think it would be better to talk offline, namely face to face.

Examiner

Do you argue with friends?

Candidate

Actually, I barely argue with my friends because for one thing I think it's more important to keep a a good relationship rather than arguing for truth, and for another thing we nearly agree on everything.

Overall: 6.0Fluency & Coherence: 6.0Pronunciation: 6.0Grammar: 6.0Lexical Resource: 6.0

Part 1

Do you like chatting with friends?

Score: 78.0

Example: I usually like chatting with friends when I'm stressed because they can give advice and comfort me. However, if I just need to focus or solve something quickly, I prefer to handle it on my own.

What do you usually chat about with friends?

Score: 72.0

Example: We talk about everyday things like work and hobbies; for instance, last week we discussed a friend’s moving plans. We also sometimes discuss broader topics, such as economic developments or recent political events.

Do you prefer to chat with a group of people or with only one friend?

Score: 80.0

Suggestion: 回答直接且清楚,但有小语法错误和表达不自然(例如“facing with a lot of people”应为“facing a large group”或“being with a lot of people”,以及“can makes”应为“makes”)。

Example: I prefer chatting with one friend because I find large groups overwhelming. For example, in a one-on-one conversation I can share personal stories more easily and feel more relaxed.

Do you prefer to communicate face-to-face or via social media?

Score: 86.0

Example: It depends on the situation. For casual matters I prefer social media because it’s convenient, but for urgent or important issues I would choose to talk face-to-face to avoid misunderstandings.

Do you argue with friends?

Score: 75.0

Suggestion: 观点明确但句子有重复和语法问题(例如“双a a good relationship”,以及短语“arguing for truth”可更自然为“arguing over who is right”)。

Example: I rarely argue with my friends because maintaining a good relationship matters more to me than proving who is right. For example, when we disagree about politics, we usually change the subject to avoid conflict.
