I love listening music, so I think yes, I love listening others singing, but I prefer a when somebody who's really good at playing instruments, for example guitar or piano, I I like to listening that type of music, not singing, but it's also music too. But yeah, I like it. I like it.
Examiner
Have you ever taken a singing class?
Candidate
I've already talked about it, but we have an exam in Turkey and I want to try it. So in the before that exam, I took a lesson, private lesson and we learned so many things. I try to manage my voice and also learn the some piano skills and I sang a song the fact and. They not accept me in the fact I really try it, but they don't like my voice. They didn't like my voice.
Do you like singing? Why?
Score: 48.0Suggestion: Cevap daha kısa ve doğrudan olmalı; gereksiz tekrarlar ve dolgu kelimeler azaltılmalı. Başlangıçta net bir konu cümlesi kur ve sonra bir veya iki destekleyici cümle ekle. Örneğin “I don’t like singing because I’m not confident about my voice” gibi açık bir ifade kullan. Ayrıca ‘masculine voice’ ifadesini açıklamak için bir sebep (örneğin ‘it sounds rough’ veya ‘people tease me’) ekleyebilirsin. Bağlaçlar kullanarak (for that reason, because) cümleleri bağla ve maksimum 4–5 cümlede kal.
Example: I don’t enjoy singing because I’m not confident about my voice; it sounds quite deep and rough. For that reason, I feel embarrassed when I sing in front of others, so I prefer dancing instead.
Have you ever learnt how to sing?
Score: 46.0Suggestion: Cevap daha düzenli olmalı: önce kısa bir net cevap, sonra detay. Yanlış kelime ve ifadeler yerine doğru terimleri kullan. Örneğin “I took some singing lessons before an exam in Turkey; I learned voice management and basic techniques.” gibi açıkla. Gereksiz tekrarları kaldır ve geçmiş zamanda tutarlı ol (I attended, I learned).
Example: Yes. I took singing lessons in Turkey to prepare for a music exam. I learned basic voice management techniques and some practical exercises to improve pitch and breath control.
Who do you want to sing for?
Score: 40.0Suggestion: Cevap karışık ve dilbilgisi hataları çok; ayrıca anlatım net değil. Önce soruya doğrudan cevap ver (örneğin ‘I would like to sing for my favorite singer, X’), sonra nedenini kısa ve saygılı şekilde açıkla. Kişisel eleştirilerden kaçın (örneğin ‘because of alcohol’ gibi ifadeler yerine ‘his voice has changed’). Tekrarlardan kaçın ve 2–3 cümlede kal.
Example: I would like to sing for my favorite singer, Telman, because his music has inspired me. Although his voice has changed over time, his earlier songs made a strong impression on me and I would love to perform them for him.
Do you think singing can bring happiness to people?
Score: 50.0Suggestion: İyi bir yapı: başlangıçta net fikir var fakat dilbilgisi ve tekrar sorunları mevcut. Cevabı daha akıcı hale getirmek için bağlaçları düzelt ve daha spesifik örnek ver (örneğin ‘performing at a party can make people happy’). Kişisel duyguları kısa ve net ifade et ve aralarda doldurucu sesleri çıkar.
Example: I think singing can make people happy, but it depends on the person. For confident singers, performing can be uplifting, while someone like me feels judged and uncomfortable, so it doesn’t bring me joy.
Do you like listening to others singing?
Score: 54.0Suggestion: Cevap açık ama tekrar ve dilbilgisi sorunları var. Önce kısa cevap (“Yes, I enjoy listening to singing”) sonra tercihini belirt. Bağlaçlar kullan ve örnek ver (‘I prefer live acoustic performances with guitar or piano’). Fazla tekrarları azalt.
Example: Yes, I enjoy listening to other people sing, especially when they accompany themselves on instruments like guitar or piano. I prefer acoustic performances because they feel more authentic and intimate.
Have you ever taken a singing class?
Score: 44.0Suggestion: Cevap duygusal fakat dağınık; mantıklı sırayla ifade et. Önce ‘Yes or No’, sonra kısa açıklama: hangi dersleri aldın, ne öğrendin ve sonuç ne oldu. Duygusal ifadeleri daha nötr yap (ör. ‘they didn’t accept me’ yerine ‘I wasn’t selected’). Gereksiz tekrarları ve dolgu sözcükleri kaldır.
Example: Yes, I took private singing lessons before a music exam in Turkey. I learned voice control and some basic piano skills, but unfortunately I wasn’t selected for the final because the judges felt my voice didn’t fit the role.
× I don't prefer is singing.
✓ I don't prefer singing.
The sentence contains an unnecessary pronoun 'is' after 'prefer'. Remove 'is' to form the correct verb phrase 'prefer singing'. Suggestion: say 'I don't prefer singing' or 'I don't like singing.'
× I don't like singing because my voice is not good for me.
✓ I don't like singing because my voice doesn't sound good to me.
'is not good for me' is awkward; use 'doesn't sound good to me' or 'I don't think my voice is good.' Also use contraction or correct auxiliary 'doesn't' with third-person singular subject 'voice.' Suggest: 'my voice doesn't sound good to me.'
× I'm I'm not really confident about my voice because I have a really masculine voice and it makes me so feel embarrassed.
✓ I'm not really confident about my voice because I have a very masculine voice and it makes me feel embarrassed.
Remove duplicate 'I'm'. Use 'very' instead of 'really' for naturalness and correct word order 'makes me feel embarrassed' rather than 'makes me so feel embarrassed.'
× For that reason, I prefer umm dancing to singing.
✓ For that reason, I prefer dancing to singing.
Remove filler 'umm' in written form. The structure 'prefer X to Y' is correct; just streamline sentence. Suggestion: 'I prefer dancing to singing.'
× Dancing is one of the my. Part.
✓ Dancing is one of my hobbies.
Original is fragmented and incorrect word order. Use 'one of my hobbies' or 'one of my favorite activities.'
× In the Turkey, we have a exam that could be Sam, and there's so many parts of that exam.
✓ In Turkey, we have an exam called 'SAM', and there are many parts of that exam.
Do not use 'the' before country names like Turkey. Use 'an exam' not 'a exam'. Use 'called' to name the exam. 'There's so many parts' should be 'there are many parts' for plurality agreement.
× There's that your brain level test, your music sound test and drove skills test.
✓ There is a test for musical aptitude, a pitch (or listening) test, and a performance skills test.
Phrase 'brain level test' and 'music sound test' are unnatural. Use appropriate nouns 'musical aptitude' or 'listening test' and 'performance skills test' for clarity. Also use consistent articles and parallel structure.
× And I attend a music test and the before I learned something, how to manage my voice.
✓ I took a music test, and before that I learned how to manage my voice.
Use 'took' or 'attended' not 'attend' for past event. 'the before' is incorrect; use 'before that'. Reorder to 'learned how to manage my voice.'
× I learned so many things on that.
✓ I learned many things from that.
Use 'learned' for past tense (already correct) but preposition should be 'from that' not 'on that.' Also 'so many' can be 'many' for formality.
× That's all. I guess I just learned that.
✓ That's all. I guess that's all I learned.
Repeat 'that's' to make natural summary: 'I guess that's all I learned.' Avoid dangling pronoun 'that.'
× My favorite singer is Telman is a Turkish singer who's really good voice, but now his voice a little bit bad because of the alcohol.
✓ My favorite singer is Telman; he is a Turkish singer with a really good voice, but now his voice is a little bit bad because of alcohol.
Avoid doubling 'is'. Use a semicolon or separate sentences. Use pronoun 'he' and 'with a really good voice.' 'Because of the alcohol' should be 'because of alcohol' without 'the'. Use article 'a little bit' with adjective 'bad.'
× So I want to be his singer.
✓ So I want to be his singer (or: I want to sing for him).
Phrase 'be his singer' is unclear; likely 'sing for him' or 'be his singer' both possible. Clarify intent: 'I want to sing for him.'
× I saw his singer, she's so beautiful and she made the heart for me.
✓ I saw his singer; she's so beautiful and she stole my heart.
'Made the heart for me' is incorrect. Use idiom 'stole my heart.' Use semicolon or conjunction for two clauses.
× If I have a chance to be a singer, I would I would probably choose Thelma.
✓ If I had a chance to be a singer, I would probably choose Telman (or Thelma if female name).
Conditional mismatch: use past tense 'had' in the if-clause for hypothetical present (second conditional). Remove duplicate 'I would.' Also ensure correct name spelling.
× It depends on people.
✓ It depends on the person.
Use singular 'the person' or 'the individual' for general statement, or 'people' with 'it depends on people' can be acceptable but awkward. Better: 'It depends on the person.'
× If a people who believes he, his or her voice is pretty, I think that can be really good for him or her.
✓ If a person believes his or her voice is pretty, I think that can be really good for them.
'A people who' is incorrect; use 'a person who'. Use gender-neutral 'them' instead of 'him or her' for naturalness. Ensure subject-verb agreement 'person who believes.'
× For example, for me, it's not really good for me.
✓ For example, for me, it's not really good.
Avoid repeating 'for me'. Redundant phrase. Keep one 'for me.'
× When I singing, I feel everybody judge me, everybody criticize me.
✓ When I sing, I feel that everybody judges me and criticizes me.
Use base verb 'sing' after 'when'. Add 'that' optional. Use third-person singular verbs 'judges' and 'criticizes' to agree with 'everybody.'
× So I don't want to jeopardize. To my career or to my vibe?
✓ So I don't want to jeopardize my career or my vibe.
Split sentence is incorrect. Remove period between 'jeopardize' and 'To'. Combine into one sentence and remove question mark. Use object 'my career or my vibe.'
× So it depends on a person.
✓ So it depends on the person.
Use 'the person' for general reference or 'the individual.' 'A person' is grammatically possible but context prefers 'the person.'
× I love listening music, so I think yes, I love listening others singing, but I prefer a when somebody who's really good at playing instruments, for example guitar or piano, I I like to listening that type of music, not singing, but it's also music too.
✓ I love listening to music, so yes, I enjoy listening to others sing, but I prefer when someone is really good at playing instruments, for example guitar or piano. I like listening to that type of music rather than singing, but it's still music.
Add preposition 'to' after 'listening'. Use 'others sing' not 'others singing'. 'Prefer a when somebody' is incorrect; use 'prefer when someone is'. Remove duplicate 'I'. Use 'listening to' again and correct comparison 'rather than singing.'
× I've already talked about it, but we have an exam in Turkey and I want to try it.
✓ I've already talked about it, but we had an exam in Turkey and I wanted to try it.
Mismatch of tenses: recounting past events requires past tense 'had' and 'wanted.' Keep present perfect only if connected to present; otherwise use simple past.
× So in the before that exam, I took a lesson, private lesson and we learned so many things.
✓ So before that exam, I took a private lesson and we learned many things.
Use 'before that exam' not 'in the before that exam.' Use 'a private lesson' for correct article placement and remove 'so' from 'so many' for formality.
× I try to manage my voice and also learn the some piano skills and I sang a song the fact and.
✓ I tried to manage my voice and also learned some piano skills, and I sang a song for the audition.
Use past tense 'tried' and 'learned'. Remove extra 'the'. 'Sang a song the fact' unclear; likely 'for the audition' or 'for the exam.'
× They not accept me in the fact I really try it, but they don't like my voice. They didn't like my voice.
✓ They did not accept me in the audition; I really tried, but they didn't like my voice.
Use auxiliary 'did not' for past negative. 'In the fact' incorrect; use 'in the audition' or 'for the audition.' Maintain consistent past tense: 'didn't like my voice.'
