Part 1
Examiner
Are you good at memorising things?
Candidate
Exactly, because as you know, my high school major is history and as a result I had to remember a lot of history event. For example, I had to remember when this history event happened because our exam would test it. So at that time I exercise my memory skills.
Examiner
Have you ever forgotten something important?
Candidate
Well, to be honest, I would say I hardly forget my important thing because I always write them down on my notebook. For example, if I have to attend an important meeting, I would write it down on my memorandum. As the meeting time is approaching, my phone would remind me of it.
Examiner
What do you need to remember in your daily life?
Candidate
Well, I have to say we have to keep small items of our daily life in mind. For example, when we go to work or school, we always forget our kids or phone in our home and it take a lot of time to return back to get our phone or key. As a result, you would be blamed by your teacher or mentor.
Examiner
How do you remember important things?
Candidate
Well, to be honest, I always write down my own important things on my notebook or my memorandum. As a result, when the important things is approaching, my smartphone would remind me of it and as a result I would not forget about it.
Are you good at memorising things?
Example: Yes, I am quite good at memorising things because I studied history in high school. For example, I often had to memorise important dates and events for exams, so I practised using flashcards and timelines to remember them effectively.
Have you ever forgotten something important?
Example: I rarely forget important things because I always write them down and set phone reminders. For instance, when I have a meeting, I note it in my notebook and set an alarm on my phone so I get alerted before it starts.
What do you need to remember in your daily life?
Score: 65.0Suggestion: 回答有内容但不够具体且有语法错误和表达不自然(we always forget our kids — 语义问题;it take -> it takes; return back冗余)。建议:1) 回答时直接陈述自己日常需要记住的具体事项(e.g. keys, phone, appointments, deadlines);2) 避免笼统或不恰当的例子(不要说总是忘记孩子);3) 注意主谓一致与自然表达;4) 使用连接词如 "for example" 和 "because" 提供原因或结果。
Example: In daily life I need to remember small but important items such as my keys, wallet and phone, as well as appointments and deadlines. For example, if I forget my keys, I might have to go back home and waste time, so I always check for them before leaving.
How do you remember important things?
Score: 75.0Suggestion: 回答结构合理但有重复表达和语法问题(my own important things,my memorandum不自然;important things is -> are;重复使用 "as a result")。建议:1) 用更自然的表达如 "I write important tasks in my notebook and set phone reminders";2) 修正主谓一致与单复数;3) 用替换连接词避免重复(so, therefore);4) 提供一两个具体方法并简短说明效果。
Example: I usually write important tasks in my notebook and set reminders on my smartphone, so I receive an alert before the deadline. For example, I put meeting details and locations in the note and set an alarm 15 minutes beforehand to make sure I arrive on time.
× I had to remember a lot of history event.
✓ I had to remember a lot of historical events.
× So at that time I exercise my memory skills.
✓ So at that time I exercised my memory skills.
× I would say I hardly forget my important thing because I always write them down on my notebook.
✓ I would say I hardly forget important things because I always write them down in my notebook.
问题包括多处:1) 单复数错误(“important thing”应为复数“important things”);2) 介词使用不当(应说“write ... in my notebook”而非“on”);3) 指代不当(用“them”指“thing”不匹配)。
× I would write it down on my memorandum.
✓ I would write it down in my memorandum.
建议记住固定搭配:write something in a notebook/memorandum。
× As the meeting time is approaching, my phone would remind me of it.
✓ As the meeting time approached, my phone reminded me of it.
此外“remind me of it”可接受,但整体时态不一致是主要问题。
× we always forget our kids or phone in our home and it take a lot of time to return back to get our phone or key.
✓ we sometimes forget our kids or phones at home and it takes a lot of time to go back to get our phone or keys.
原句问题较多:1) 单复数错误(“phone”应为复数“phones”与“kids”并列时需一致);2) 代词/动词一致(主语“we”后“it take”错误,应为“it takes”);3) 介词和搭配错误(应说“at home”而非“in our home”,并用“go back”代替“return back”避免重复);4) “key”应为复数“keys”与“phone”并列。 建议注意主谓一致、单复数一致和常见搭配(at home, go back)。
× As a result, you would be blamed by your teacher or mentor.
✓ As a result, you would be blamed by your teacher or mentor.
× I always write down my own important things on my notebook or my memorandum.
✓ I always write down my important things in my notebook or in my memorandum.
建议熟记常见搭配:write down something in a notebook/memorandum。
× when the important things is approaching, my smartphone would remind me of it and as a result I would not forget about it.
✓ when the important things are approaching, my smartphone would remind me of them and as a result I would not forget about them.
原句存在主谓一致和代词一致问题:主语“the important things”是复数,应使用“are”而非“is”;代词“it”应与复数“things”一致改为“them”。
