Part 1
Examiner
Do you like chatting with friends?
Candidate
Actually, Nope. I and my friends tend to interact with each other in more subtle ways, such as sending emails or from time to time making a video call, but we don't actually talk to each other face to face very frequently, and probably due to the limitations of our time schedules.
Examiner
What do you usually chat about with friends?
Candidate
Well, that's interesting. Unlike most people, my friends and I often discuss on more profound and serious topics about society. For example, we tend to talk about history, like what has happened in the past of human beings history, or military, like the Russian Ukraine war that is taking on right now. Finally, we tend to talk about entertainment elements.
Examiner
Do you prefer to chat with a group of people or with only one friend?
Candidate
I will say that talking with an individual might be better for me. Umm. The first reason is that when you are trying to interact with a large number of people, it's difficult for you for you to have a concentration or the focus of the topic, right? You may have lots of distractions or sometimes digressing and this can be frustrating. This is not going to happen if you are interacting with only one person.
Examiner
Do you prefer to communicate face-to-face or via social media?
Candidate
Well, I personally prefer communicating face to face in reality because it can offer more profound and serious feelings and interactions. Umm, you know, when you are talking with someone in the same room, you can understand each other's meanings by not only the language itself, but also gestures, posters, eye contact and body languages. This is generally impossible online.
Examiner
Do you argue with friends?
Candidate
Well, actually, I often argue with my friends because we tend to have different opinions on certain controversial topics, especially the ones about politics or war or economy. You know, we often read a lot and share our ideas online, and then we've got a conflict. I think that's an important part of our relationship, you know, no argument, no friendship.

✓ My friends and I tend to interact with each other in more subtle ways, such as sending emails or from time to time making video calls, but we don't actually talk to each other face to face very frequently, probably due to the limitations of our time schedules.
“I and my friends” 的顺序不符合英语习惯,应该是“My friends and I”。“making a video call”中的“a”不合适,因为这里指的是不定次数的“视频通话”,应使用复数形式“video calls”。
× my friends and I often discuss on more profound and serious topics about society.
✓ my friends and I often discuss more profound and serious topics about society.
× like what has happened in the past of human beings history, or military, like the Russian Ukraine war that is taking on right now.
✓ like what has happened in the past of human history, or military, like the Russia-Ukraine war that is going on right now.
“human beings history”应简化为“human history”,更符合英语表达习惯。“Russian Ukraine war”应为“Russia-Ukraine war”,表示两国之间的战争。
× I will say that talking with an individual might be better for me.
✓ I would say that talking with an individual might be better for me.
× it's difficult for you for you to have a concentration or the focus of the topic, right?
✓ it's difficult for you to have concentration or focus on the topic, right?
“for you for you”重复,应去掉一个。“a concentration”不合适,应该用不可数名词“concentration”。“focus of the topic”应改为“focus on the topic”。
× you may have lots of distractions or sometimes digressing and this can be frustrating.
✓ you may have lots of distractions or sometimes digress, and this can be frustrating.
“digressing”作为动名词在这里不合适,应该用动词原形“digress”与前面的动词并列。
× I personally prefer communicating face to face in reality because it can offer more profound and serious feelings and interactions.
✓ I personally prefer communicating face to face in real life because it can offer more profound and serious feelings and interactions.
“in reality”通常指“实际上”,而“in real life”更适合表达“现实生活中”的意思。
× you can understand each other's meanings by not only the language itself, but also gestures, posters, eye contact and body languages.
✓ you can understand each other's meanings not only by the language itself, but also by gestures, postures, eye contact and body language.
“by”应放在“not only”和“but also”前以保持平行结构。“posters”应为“postures”(姿势)。“body languages”应为不可数名词“body language”。
× we tend to have different opinions on certain controversial topics, especially the ones about politics or war or economy.
✓ we tend to have different opinions about certain controversial topics, especially the ones about politics, war, or the economy.
“opinions on”可以,但“opinions about”更常用且自然。“war or economy”应改为“war, or the economy”,并加逗号分隔。
× we often read a lot and share our ideas online, and then we've got a conflict.
✓ we often read a lot and share our ideas online, and then we get into conflicts.
“got a conflict”不自然,应该用“get into conflicts”表示发生争执。
