Do you prefer to read on paper or on a screen?
Thí sinh
I personally prefer to read on paper because it is more comfortable for my eyes and I love that tactile feel when I'm holding the book in my hands and also I think I can concentrate more from a book than a digital screen.

When do you need to read carefully, and when not?
Thí sinh
I personally think that I need to concentrate more while dealing with contracts or some exam instruction and uh, I, I will be more careless when I'm reading some novels or newspapers because it's less important for me. So that's it.

Do you prefer scanning or detailed reading?
Thí sinh
Actually I don't have a clear cut idea about scanning things. I have done most of the most of my job through detailed reading so I'm not comfortable with it and I I think I can learn more about scanning in my future.
Do you like reading?
Điểm: 78.0Gợi ý: Be more concise and natural: start with a clear topic sentence, avoid fillers (e.g., "umm", "et cetera"), and limit to up to 4 sentences. Add one specific example to make your answer more vivid (e.g., a recent book and why you enjoyed it).
Ví dụ: Yes, I really enjoy reading because it helps me relax after a busy day. For example, I recently read a historical novel about World War II that I liked for its detailed characters and realistic setting, which made me think about the era differently. I’ve loved reading since childhood, so it’s a hobby I always return to.
Do you prefer to read on paper or on a screen?
Điểm: 86.0Gợi ý: Good structure and clear opinion. Improve by using linking words to connect reasons and adding a brief specific contrast (e.g., when you choose screens). Reduce repetition (avoid "I personally").
Ví dụ: I prefer reading on paper because it’s gentler on my eyes and I enjoy the tactile feel of a real book. Also, I find it easier to concentrate with a physical book, whereas I tend to get distracted by notifications when I read on a screen.
When do you need to read carefully, and when not?
Điểm: 72.0Gợi ý: Be direct and avoid hesitation. Give a clear topic sentence, then use linking words and a specific example for each case (e.g., a contract clause or a news article you skim). Remove fillers and the closing phrase "So that's it."
Ví dụ: I need to read very carefully when I’m handling contracts or exam instructions because missing one detail could cause problems. On the other hand, I usually skim novels or newspapers for general ideas, for example I’ll skim a news article to get the headline and main points rather than every detail.
Do you prefer scanning or detailed reading?
Điểm: 70.0Gợi ý: Give a clear preference and concise reasons, avoid repetition and hesitations. Use linking words to explain why detailed reading suits you and when scanning might be useful, plus a plan to improve scanning skills.
Ví dụ: I prefer detailed reading because my work requires understanding every detail, which helps me avoid mistakes. However, I see the value of scanning for finding key facts quickly, so I plan to practice scanning by timing myself when reviewing articles and focusing on headings and first sentences.
× I personally prefer to read on paper because it is more comfortable for my eyes and I love that tactile feel when I'm holding the book in my hands and also I think I can concentrate more from a book than a digital screen.
✓ I personally prefer to read on paper because it is more comfortable for my eyes and I love the tactile feel of holding a book in my hands, and I think I can concentrate more with a book than with a digital screen.
Use of prepositions 'from' and the phrase 'when I'm holding the book in my hands' is awkward. Use 'the tactile feel of holding a book' and the correct preposition 'with' to compare concentration: 'concentrate more with a book than with a digital screen.' This makes the relationships between verbs and objects clear and idiomatic. Suggestion: replace 'from' with 'with' in comparisons and use 'the tactile feel of holding' for natural phrasing.
× I personally think that I need to concentrate more while dealing with contracts or some exam instruction and uh, I, I will be more careless when I'm reading some novels or newspapers because it's less important for me.
✓ I personally think that I need to concentrate more when dealing with contracts or exam instructions, and I am more careless when reading novels or newspapers because they are less important to me.
Use 'while dealing with' is acceptable but 'when dealing with' is more natural. 'Some exam instruction' should be plural 'exam instructions.' 'I, I will be more careless when I'm reading' is awkward; use 'I am more careless when reading.' Also replace 'it's less important for me' with 'they are less important to me' to match plural subject. Suggestion: ensure subject-verb agreement and use natural prepositions ('when' and 'to me').
× Actually I don't have a clear cut idea about scanning things.
✓ Actually I don't have a clear-cut idea about how to scan texts.
The phrase 'clear cut' should be hyphenated as 'clear-cut' when used as an adjective. 'About scanning things' is vague; use 'about how to scan texts' to fit the present-tense context of ability/knowledge. Suggestion: hyphenate compound adjectives and choose specific nouns to improve clarity.
× I have done most of the most of my job through detailed reading so I'm not comfortable with it and I I think I can learn more about scanning in my future.
✓ I have done most of my work through detailed reading, so I'm not comfortable with scanning, but I think I can learn more about it in the future.
Redundant phrase 'most of the most of' should be 'most of my work.' Use 'work' instead of 'job' to match the context. 'I'm not comfortable with it' is unclear; specify 'scanning.' 'In my future' is nonstandard; use 'in the future.' Also remove the repeated 'I.' Suggestion: eliminate redundancy, use correct collocations ('most of my work', 'in the future'), and avoid repeated words.
× Absolutely yes. I love reading because it helps me to unwind and escape from the daily stress and I like to explore different genres like romance, umm, history, fiction, et cetera. And also reading is one of my hobbies from my childhood so yes.
✓ Absolutely. I love reading because it helps me unwind and escape daily stress, and I like to explore different genres such as romance, history, and fiction. Reading has been one of my hobbies since childhood, so yes.
Combine and restructure sentences for clarity. 'Absolutely yes' is unnatural; 'Absolutely' suffices. 'Helps me to unwind' can omit 'to.' 'Daily stress' is better than 'the daily stress.' Use 'such as' instead of 'like' for examples in formal speech and avoid filler 'umm.' 'Reading is one of my hobbies from my childhood' should be 'has been one of my hobbies since childhood' to express duration. Suggestion: simplify filler words, use correct aspect for duration ('has been ... since'), and prefer 'such as' for examples.
