Pergunta: Are there any changes in your city?

Ideia 1

Yes, there are many changes
Resposta Modelo
Yes, there have been a lot of changes in my city. For example, there are many more high-rise buildings and shopping malls than before. The public transport system has also improved a lot, with new subway lines and more buses, so it's easier to get around. There are also more parks and green spaces, which is nice. But the city has become much busier and more crowded, and technology is everywhere now, like shared bikes and mobile payments.
Definitely, my city has changed a lot in recent years. There are loads of new high-rise buildings and shopping malls popping up everywhere. Public transport has really improved too, with new subway lines and more frequent buses, making it much more convenient to travel around. Plus, there are more parks and green spaces, which is great for relaxing. On the flip side, the city feels much busier and more crowded than before, and technology has become a huge part of daily life, with things like shared bikes and mobile payments being really common now.
Análise Gramatical
1. Present perfect tense: "my city has changed a lot" and "public transport has really improved" use the present perfect to talk about changes that started in the past and continue to the present. 2. Present continuous: "popping up everywhere" uses the present continuous to describe ongoing development. 3. Comparative structures: "much more convenient" and "more crowded than before" use comparatives to highlight changes. 4. Use of informal expressions: Phrases like "loads of" and "on the flip side" make the answer sound natural and conversational, which is great for IELTS Speaking.

Some things have stayed the same
Resposta Modelo
But some things in my city have stayed the same. For example, there are still some old neighborhoods and traditional markets where people go shopping. The way people live and the local food haven't changed much either. We still celebrate the same festivals and keep our culture alive, which I think is really important.
However, despite all these changes, some aspects of my city have remained unchanged. For instance, there are still old neighborhoods and traditional markets that have managed to survive all the development. People’s lifestyles and the local cuisine have stayed pretty much the same, and our city’s culture and festivals are still celebrated with the same enthusiasm as before. I think it’s great that we’ve managed to hold onto these traditions even as the city modernizes.
Análise Gramatical
1. Present perfect tense: "have remained unchanged" and "have managed to survive" use the present perfect to show that these situations started in the past and continue up to now. 2. Present simple tense: "People’s lifestyles and the local cuisine have stayed pretty much the same" and "culture and festivals are still celebrated" use the present simple to describe general truths or habits. 3. Contrast structure: The use of "However, despite all these changes" introduces a contrast, showing the ability to use linking words for cohesion. 4.
