A friend's influence
When it happened
I'm going to talk about an incident that happened about two years ago when my friend persuaded me to join a local hiking club. It was during the summer holidays, and I was looking for something productive to do with my free time.
What he/she persuaded you to do
My friend, Sarah, who is an avid hiker, encouraged me to join her on a hiking trip organized by the club. She had been a member for a while and always spoke highly of the experiences and the people she met there. She thought it would be a great way for me to get some exercise and enjoy the natural beauty of our local area.
Why he/she persuaded you to do it
Sarah knew that I had been feeling a bit stressed with work and thought that hiking would be a perfect way to unwind and take my mind off things. She also mentioned that it would be a fantastic opportunity to meet new people and make some friends who shared similar interests. She was quite persuasive, highlighting the health benefits and the fun aspect of being out in nature.
And explain whether you did it at last
Initially, I was hesitant because I wasn't very fit and the idea of hiking up steep trails seemed daunting. However, Sarah's enthusiasm was contagious, and after some consideration, I decided to give it a try. I joined her on a weekend hike, and to my surprise, I thoroughly enjoyed it. The scenery was breathtaking, and the sense of accomplishment I felt after completing the hike was incredibly rewarding. Since then, I've become a regular member of the hiking club, and it has become one of my favorite pastimes. Sarah's persuasion not only introduced me to a new hobby but also helped me improve my physical fitness and mental well-being.
