I think a big reason why some public transport isn't liked much is because there aren't enough seats and it isn't always clean. Getting a seat when it's really busy is very hard, and this makes the trip exhausting and uncomfortable. Also, dirty conditions on buses or trains, such as trash and dirty seats, make people not want to use them and choose other ways to travel.
