Painting and drawing differ mostly in the tools and materials. Drawings are done with pencils or pens on paper, making it simple and easy. But painting uses brushes and paints, like watercolors or oils. Paintings can be done on many surfaces, like canvases or walls, which lets artists create bigger and more textured works. These differences in tools and where they're used change how the art looks and how it's made.

I think that learning to draw comes before painting. In my art classes at school, we weren't initially allowed to use paints because we might have made a mess. We started with graphite pencils for drawing, mainly in black and white. I remember the teacher was quite strict about that. After we got the hang of drawing, we progressed to painting, which was harder. This was mainly because working with colors was more challenging than just drawing.
