For most people, it was hard, and that's why it's important to remember our history accurately.

Yes, I think we should know about our country's history, for sure, but we need to ensure what we learn is the truth. To look back with rose-tinted glasses and believe that the past was a lovely time to be alive is very shortsighted in my opinion. It was a tough time for the majority of the people then and this is why it's important to remember where we have come from.
