No, I think that's a bit too much. Everyday items should be more about function and practicality. For instance, if I have a kitchen knife that looks nice but can't cut well or breaks quickly, it's useless to me. The most important thing is that items work properly and serve their purpose. If they also look good, that's a bonus, but it's not my main priority, and I don't think it's the main concern for others either.
