Topic: Describe a place in your country that you think is interesting
Example
The city of Beijing Where is it I'm going to talk about the capital city of my country, Beijing. It's located in the East of the country, close to the sea but it's not a coastal city. How you know about it As it's the capital of my country, I learnt about it in history classes and it has a fascinating history. Nowadays, it's a huge megacity with huge skyscrapers and is a huge business hub where most international companies have a headquarters. What special features it has It is home to the Forbidden Palace, which was the home of emperors for over 500 years and is awe-inspiring. The Great Wall is just north of the city too so you can visit that and get a feel for life hundreds of years ago. And explain why you are interested in it What gets me is how Beijing has changed so much in the last hundred years or so. It went from being the political center to being the business and cultural center in a very short space of time. It's almost unrecognizable today from even 30 years ago, which to me is staggering.

One place in my country that piques my interest is Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, located in Hunan Province. I first discovered it while watching a travel documentary and was absolutely spellbound by its jaw-dropping natural beauty. The park is renowned for its towering quartzite sandstone formations, which rise dramatically from the earth like enormous pillars. These formations served as an inspiration for the floating mountains in the blockbuster movie, "Avatar." Apart from that, the park offers a lush canopy of trees, pristine lakes, and an intricate network of hiking trails that make it an outdoor enthusiast's dream come true. But what truly captivates me is the area's profound historical and cultural significance. It is believed to be one of the prototypes for classical Chinese landscape painting, fusing elements of nature and artistry in a way that's utterly harmonious. I'm particularly drawn to this place because it encapsulates the essence of China's unique geographical diversity and rich cultural history. More than just a travel destination, Zhangjiajie is a testament to the intricate balance between human civilization and the natural world, making it a place I long to explore in person one day.
