Choosing a career path
What the decision was
I'm going to talk about a difficult decision I made a few years ago regarding my career path. I had to choose between continuing my studies in engineering or switching to a completely different field, which was graphic design.
When you made that decision
I made this decision during my final year of university. It was a time when I was supposed to be focusing on my engineering thesis, but I found myself increasingly drawn to the world of design. I had been dabbling in graphic design as a hobby, and it was becoming more than just a pastime for me.
Why it was difficult to make
The decision was difficult for several reasons. First, I had already invested a significant amount of time and effort into my engineering studies, and switching fields felt like I was throwing all of that away. Additionally, there was the fear of the unknown; I had no formal training in graphic design, and I wasn't sure if I could make a successful career out of it. Moreover, my family had high expectations for me to become an engineer, and I was worried about disappointing them.
Explain how you felt about the good result
Ultimately, I decided to follow my passion and pursue graphic design. I enrolled in a design course and started building my portfolio. The transition was challenging, but it turned out to be one of the best decisions I've ever made. I now work as a graphic designer for a reputable company, and I love what I do. The good result of this decision was not just a fulfilling career but also personal happiness and satisfaction. I felt a sense of relief and joy knowing that I had the courage to follow my heart, and it paid off. This experience taught me the importance of listening to my instincts and being open to change, even when it's daunting.
