Reconnecting with an old friend
Who he/she is
I'd like to talk about my friend, Sarah, who I've known since we were both in primary school. We were inseparable back then, always spending our weekends and school holidays together.
Why you lost contact
As often happens, we lost touch after high school when we went to different universities. She moved to another city, and as the years passed, we gradually stopped communicating. Life just got in the way, and our regular updates became less and less frequent until they stopped altogether.
How you got in contact again
The reunion happened quite unexpectedly. I was scrolling through social media one day and saw a comment she made on a mutual friend's post. It brought back so many memories, and on an impulse, I sent her a message. To my delight, she replied almost immediately, and we started catching up right there.
And explain how you felt after getting in contact again
Reconnecting with Sarah was genuinely exhilarating. It felt as though no time had passed at all. We shared updates about our lives, careers, and families, and it was amazing to see how much we had both grown yet remained similar in so many ways. It brought a sense of nostalgia and also a new opportunity to rekindle a friendship that was important to both of us. I felt a mix of joy and relief, knowing that we could pick up right where we left off, despite the years apart. It was a reminder of the enduring nature of true friendships, no matter the distance or time apart.
