Band 7 Example
Question: How should people encourage children to express themselves when being asked questions that they are afraid to answer?
Idea 1
Creating a Safe Environment
Model Answer
It's really important to create an atmosphere where kids don't feel judged. When they are afraid to speak, it's good to tell them it's fine to say what they think. We should let them know that their ideas and feelings matter and that they will be supported no matter what they say. It's all about making them trust us and feel comfortable sharing their thoughts, even on hard topics.
Idea 2
Building Trust
Model Answer
Teaching kids to express their feelings is good, especially when they're unsure. Using open-ended questions can be helpful. These questions don't need a right or wrong answer; they let the child think about their thoughts. This way, it's easier for them to talk about how they feel and it also helps them develop their emotional understanding.
