Speaking Part 3: Advice
Here are some additional part 3 questions along with sample answers:
1. Is it better to seek advice from a friend or a family member?
The answer to this question depends on the type of advice one needs. Family members, such as parents and grandparents, often possess valuable life experience, so they might provide wiser or more sensible answers. On the other hand, friends typically offer a more relaxed and non-judgmental perspective, making them a preferable option when seeking advice on certain matters. For example, if I have a financial problem, I would probably opt to discuss it with a friend rather than burden my parents.
2. What attributes should a good adviser possess?
First and foremost, a good adviser should be an attentive listener, taking the time to fully comprehend the situation before providing guidance. Secondly, the adviser should strive to be objective, avoiding any judgment towards the individual seeking assistance. Lastly, effective advisers possess the skill of asking pertinent questions and encouraging others to find their own solutions.
3. Should individuals independently make their own decisions regarding work and career, or is it beneficial to seek advice on this matter?
In my opinion, it is beneficial to consider both aspects. Most of us consult family, friends, teachers, or colleagues when making career choices. Nevertheless, I believe that the final decision should ultimately rest with the individual. It is important for each of us to take personal responsibility for the significant life choices we make.
