Speaking Part 2: A future aim
Here’s another speaking part 2 task and my sample answer.
Describe an aim or goal that you hope to achieve in the future. You should say:
- what the aim is
- when you hope to achieve it
- what you need to do to reach your goal
- and explain why this goal is important to you.
I’m going to describe a future aim of mine, which is to write a book. Specifically, I aspire to write a novel, incorporating fictional elements while drawing inspiration from my own experiences, ideas, and perspectives.
Unfortunately, at this point, I am unsure about the starting point and the content of my novel. Therefore, achieving this ambition seems distant, possibly in the later stages of my life. It might be a hobby I pursue after retirement, or I may experience a sudden burst of inspiration and start writing much sooner. Presently, it remains a rather abstract objective.
To write a novel requires immense motivation and dedication. Above all, I would require ample time and unwavering commitment to persist until its completion. Establishing a daily writing routine and developing a captivating story idea would be crucial prerequisites.
This goal captivates me because I have always been intrigued by the process of creating a piece of fiction from scratch. I have often pondered whether I possess the ability to do the same and bring a story to life. Being an avid reader, I aspire to follow in the footsteps of my favorite authors.
