Speaking Part 1: Sports (negative answers)
In Part 1 of the speaking test, it is acceptable to provide negative answers. Below are some examples of negative answers for individuals who do not enjoy sports:
1. What sports or physical activities do you regularly do?
Unfortunately, due to my work commitments, I do not have the time to engage in any sports or physical activities. At the moment, sports are not a priority for me.
2. Which sport or game would you like to be good at?
To be honest, I do not have a strong desire to excel in any particular sport or game. I prefer more relaxing activities, such as reading and walking.
3. Do you prefer watching or playing sports?
I am not an avid sports enthusiast who spends a lot of time watching sports on TV. Therefore, my answer would be neither. I have never been very athletic; it is simply not my cup of tea.
4. Do you think children should be encouraged to do more sport?
Not necessarily. I believe that children get plenty of exercise through unstructured play. Sports are a more formalized form of play, with set rules and objectives, but children are perfectly content running around and having fun without adults instructing them on what to do.
Additional Examples and Explanations:
1. What sports or physical activities do you regularly do?
- Unfortunately, my busy schedule doesn't allow me to engage in any regular sports or physical activities. I find it challenging to make time for it due to work and other commitments. As a result, sport is not currently a part of my routine.
2. Which sport or game would you like to be good at?
- Honestly, I don't have a particular sport or game in mind that I aspire to excel in. I find more joy and relaxation in activities that don't involve intense physical exertion. For instance, I find solace in reading books or going for leisurely walks.
3. Do you prefer watching or playing sports?
- Personally, I am not inclined towards watching sports on TV, and I don't have a strong interest in any specific sports. Therefore, my preference lies neither in watching nor playing sports. I have always been more drawn to other forms of entertainment and leisure activities. Sports have just never captured my attention.
4. Do you think children should be encouraged to do more sport?
- I don't necessarily believe that children should be constantly pushed to participate in organized sports. I think they naturally get plenty of exercise and physical activity through unstructured play. Engaging in sports can be beneficial for children, but their overall development should not solely depend on it. Allowing them the freedom to explore and play with their peers is important as well.
