Part 3: Children’s toys

Here are two speaking part 3 questions with sample answers.

1. Do you think it’s important for boys to play with "boys’ toys" and for girls to only play with "girls’ toys"?

I believe that many boys naturally tend to gravitate towards "boys’ toys," while girls often show a preference for "girls’ toys". For instance, during my own childhood, I used to enjoy playing with toy cars, trucks, guns, and similar items, while my sister always had a strong inclination towards dolls. Although it doesn't really matter if a boy plays with a doll or if a girl plays with a toy car, children quickly grasp the societal norms associated with toys for boys and girls.

2. Do you think it’s good if parents only buy "educational" toys for their children?

No, I disagree with the notion of exclusively providing children with educational toys. In my opinion, children learn best when they engage with toys that capture their interest. They have an inherent ability to create their own games, even in the absence of toys. It is crucial for children to simply have fun, as there will be ample opportunities for parents to prioritize educational aspects as their children grow older.
