Regarding this part, the examiner will usually extend the topic from Part 2 and ask 4-5 questions related to the views and opinions on the Part 2 topic. Part 3 is officially known as a “two-way discussion,” where both parties defend their viewpoints and express their thoughts and opinions. The overall duration is 4-5 minutes.

Note: If the examiner interrupts you during your response, don’t get nervous. It’s not directed at you personally. Stay calm and continue to reasonably defend your point of view. If you find yourself at a loss for answers to the examiner’s questions, you can use the following methods to buy some time:

1. Ask the examiner to explain the question and confirm your understanding of the topic.
2. Try paraphrasing the question to gain more time to think.
3. Indicate to the examiner that the question is challenging for you and ask for more time to think.
4. Explain to the examiner why you are struggling to come up with an answer and provide a possible solution.
