Do you like chatting with friends?

考生

Yes, I do like chatting with my friends, especially this person is a very good friend of me. Umm, so I have multiple friends that I can chat with. All this feeling, my honest feeling of what I feel every day and that moment when I chat with those people, it's very relaxing, I enjoy it.

考官

What do you usually chat about with friends?

考生

I chat various things starting from the weather today, how it's raining and how disappointing it is sometimes or how happy it is because of the rain and being able to stay in the house and watch TV and the great feeling that you don't have to do anything during the weekend. I chat about like some study issues and friendship issues and work issues also.

考官

Do you prefer to chat with a group of people or with only one friend?

考生

I usually prefer to talk with only one friend because I can concentrate on what he or she is chatting to me or talking to me and she or he. I have a feeling that she or he would more focus on what I'm saying. In contrast, when I'm talking in a group, then even if I say something, not everybody is listening to me. So that's kind of sad feeling, that's why.

考官

Do you prefer to communicate face-to-face or via social media?

考生

I prefer to communicate in face to face, especially because I can read their expressions when I'm talking to them. If I'm talking on social media via text, then it's mostly, uh, just a text and we don't see their faces. So also I don't understand their tones on The Voice. So that's why I like talking face to face.

考官

Do you argue with friends?

考生

I only rarely argue with my friends. Actually, I argue with friends when I have very, very strong opinion about what I want to do. And I don't really argue about my philosophical feeling or if I am agree or disagree with his or her political views. Usually, yeah.

文法

Incorrect use of pronouns

× especially this person is a very good friend of me

especially this person is a very good friend of mine

The phrase 'friend of me' is incorrect because 'me' is an object pronoun and cannot be used possessively. The correct possessive pronoun is 'mine'. Use 'friend of mine' to indicate possession correctly.

Incorrect use of pronouns

× I can concentrate on what he or she is chatting to me or talking to me and she or he

I can concentrate on what he or she is saying to me and she or he

The phrase 'chatting to me' is awkward; 'saying to me' or 'talking to me' is more natural. Also, 'and she or he' is incorrect in order and pronoun case; it should be 'and he or she' to maintain parallel structure and correct pronoun order.

Incorrect use of pronouns

× I have a feeling that she or he would more focus on what I'm saying

I have a feeling that he or she would focus more on what I'm saying

The pronoun order should be 'he or she' for natural English. Also, the adverb 'more' should come after the verb 'focus' to form 'focus more' rather than 'more focus'.

Incorrect use of prepositions

× I prefer to communicate in face to face

I prefer to communicate face to face

The phrase 'in face to face' is incorrect because 'face to face' is an adverbial phrase and does not require a preposition. The correct form is simply 'communicate face to face'.

Incorrect use of pronouns

× if I am agree or disagree with his or her political views

if I agree or disagree with his or her political views

The verb 'agree' should not be preceded by 'am' because 'agree' is a verb, not an adjective. The correct form is 'if I agree or disagree'.
