Part 1

考官

Do you like chatting with friends?

考生

Yes, chatting with friends is one of the most essential parts in my routine. I have a lot of close friends. We chit chat with each other every day about a lot of topics in life, from daily interactions to some abstract ones. I think this is the best way for us to express our ideas and have some fun in our lives.

考官

What do you usually chat about with friends?

考生

My friend and I usually talk about wide range of topics from everyday things like school, friends, relationships to other abstract subjects like our dream and goals. However, our favorite subjects is about, uh, love, and we enjoy sharing stories of each other, sharing experiences and those of others. This helps us.

考官

Do you prefer to chat with a group of people or with only one friend?

考生

Well I think it's really depends. When it comes to small talks I would prefer it to be fun and engaged by so many people talking about one topic, for example my classmate talking about one of the exam. But but when I'm having tip talks I would like to share it with my my friends or my someone I trust so I can express my ideas and sharing deep conversation.

考官

Do you prefer to communicate face-to-face or via social media?

考生

Well, I think that both of them has the positive and negative impacts. While communicating in person helps us to be connected deeply and generate some direct interactions, communicating via social media helps us to connect a wide range of people regardless of the distance. So we can connect with the global friends as well. Moreover, we can.

考官

Do you argue with friends?

考生

Yes, definitely. Me and my friends have been friends with each other for almost 7 years and uh, although we have been through a lot of up and downs together, the conflicts are inevitable. So as time passed by, I tend to consider the arguments as the way for us to strengthen our bonds and get to know each other better.

语法

Incorrect use of prepositions

× chatting with friends is one of the most essential parts in my routine

chatting with friends is one of the most essential parts of my routine

The preposition 'in' is incorrectly used here; the correct preposition to indicate belonging or association is 'of'. Use 'parts of my routine' instead of 'parts in my routine'. This is a common prepositional phrase error.

Singular and plural issue

× My friend and I usually talk about wide range of topics

My friend and I usually talk about a wide range of topics

The phrase 'wide range' requires an article 'a' before it because 'range' is a singular countable noun. Omitting the article causes a grammatical error.

Singular and plural issue

× our favorite subjects is about, uh, love

our favorite subject is about, uh, love

The subject 'favorite subjects' is plural but the verb 'is' is singular, causing subject-verb disagreement. Changing 'subjects' to singular 'subject' matches the singular verb 'is'.

Incorrect use of prepositions

× sharing stories of each other

sharing stories with each other

The correct preposition to indicate mutual exchange is 'with' not 'of'. 'Sharing stories with each other' is the correct phrase.

Third person singular issue

× Well I think it's really depends

Well I think it really depends

The verb 'depends' should not be preceded by 'it's' (it is) because 'depends' already includes the verb. The correct structure is 'it really depends' without 'is'.

Incorrect use of prepositions

× my classmate talking about one of the exam

my classmate talking about one of the exams

The noun 'exam' should be plural 'exams' because 'one of the' is followed by a plural noun. Also, 'talking' is fine here as a participle.

Incorrect use of pronouns

× I would like to share it with my my friends or my someone I trust

I would like to share it with my friends or someone I trust

The phrase 'my someone' is incorrect; 'someone' is an indefinite pronoun and does not take a possessive adjective 'my'. Also, the repeated 'my' is a typographical error.

Incorrect use of prepositions

× both of them has the positive and negative impacts

both of them have positive and negative impacts

The verb should agree with the plural subject 'both of them', so 'have' is correct instead of 'has'. Also, the article 'the' before 'positive and negative impacts' is unnecessary here.

Singular and plural issue

× connect with the global friends as well

connect with global friends as well

The article 'the' before 'global friends' is unnecessary unless referring to a specific group. Removing 'the' makes the phrase more natural.

Incorrect use of pronouns

× Me and my friends have been friends with each other for almost 7 years

My friends and I have been friends with each other for almost 7 years

The subject pronoun 'I' should be used instead of 'me' when it is the subject of the sentence. Also, it is polite to mention oneself last.
