Does your name have any special meaning?

Candidato

My name doesn't really seem to have any specific meaning, it's basically matched by combining part of my mother name and another random name. Just sounds smooth and nice. The funny thing is if you read it in Sino Vietnamese, my name actually mean black feet. I find that quite funny. But overall I still love the name my parents gave me.

Examinador

How would you choose names for your next generation?

Candidato

I am still in the early 20s so I don't have plans to chew a name for the next generation. However, I reflect on that have the name meanings like diamond, smart, intelligent, something means like a flower for a girl and very kind for a boy.

Examinador

Does anyone in your family have the same name as you?

Candidato

Of course we are family, we had the same last name but our first name have different meaning. For example, my brother have a name that means Storm because he was born in July in summer and my mother name means intelligent and elegant.

Examinador

Are there any differences between how Chinese name their children now and in the past?

Candidato

I'm not sure because I'm not Chinese so I don't know much about their culture. Maybe nowadays the names they give to their children are more modern and easier to pronounce than 18th or 19th century. Also I heard that some people have nickname spelled like English name.

Examinador

Are there any names that are more popular than others in China?

Candidato

As I mentioned before, I'm not Chinese so I don't know much about their popular name in China, but I guess that's like 11 Chow Chow or don't get or the one Ming, uh, something like that. I don't know. I spell that correct or not, but I try my best.

Gramática

Verb in the present participle form

× Just sounds smooth and nice.

It just sounds smooth and nice.

The sentence lacks a subject. Adding 'It' clarifies the subject performing the action, making the sentence grammatically correct.

Verb in the present participle form

× my name actually mean black feet.

my name actually means black feet.

The subject 'my name' is singular, so the verb should be in third person singular form 'means' to agree with the subject.

Modal verb usage

× I don't have plans to chew a name for the next generation.

I don't have plans to choose a name for the next generation.

The word 'chew' is incorrect in this context; the correct verb is 'choose' when referring to selecting a name.

Verb in the present participle form

× I reflect on that have the name meanings like diamond, smart, intelligent, something means like a flower for a girl and very kind for a boy.

I think about having name meanings like diamond, smart, intelligent, something that means like a flower for a girl and very kind for a boy.

The original sentence is ungrammatical and unclear. 'Reflect on that have' is incorrect; 'think about having' is appropriate. Also, 'something means' should be 'something that means' to correctly introduce a relative clause.

Singular and plural issue

× we had the same last name but our first name have different meaning.

we have the same last name but our first names have different meanings.

'We' is plural, so 'have' is correct for the last name. 'First name' should be plural 'first names' and 'meaning' should be plural 'meanings' to agree with the plural subject.

Third person singular issue

× my brother have a name that means Storm because he was born in July in summer and my mother name means intelligent and elegant.

my brother has a name that means Storm because he was born in July in summer and my mother's name means intelligent and elegant.

'Brother' is singular third person, so the verb should be 'has'. Also, 'my mother name' should be possessive 'my mother's name'.

Incorrect use of prepositions

× Maybe nowadays the names they give to their children are more modern and easier to pronounce than 18th or 19th century.

Maybe nowadays the names they give to their children are more modern and easier to pronounce than those in the 18th or 19th century.

The phrase 'than 18th or 19th century' is incomplete. Adding 'those in the' clarifies the comparison to names from those centuries.

Incorrect use of prepositions

× Also I heard that some people have nickname spelled like English name.

Also I heard that some people have nicknames spelled like English names.

'Nickname' and 'name' should be plural to agree with 'some people'. Also, 'spelled like English name' is better as 'spelled like English names'.

Incorrect use of pronouns

× but I guess that's like 11 Chow Chow or don't get or the one Ming, uh, something like that.

but I guess that's like '11 Chow Chow' or 'Don't Get' or 'The One Ming', uh, something like that.

The sentence is unclear and seems to be listing names. Adding quotation marks (in speech) or clarifying the names helps, but since this is spoken language, the main issue is clarity rather than grammar. No direct pronoun error detected here.
