What is your favourite food?

Candidato

My favorite food is a Russian traditional dish which is called Belichicki. Uh, my grandma used to make them when I was a child and now as I moved to Saint Petersburg, a huge city which is far away from my hometown. I really miss Blinchiki made by her, but I'm not a specialist in this and I cannot make the same one as her.

Examinador

What kind of food did you like when you were young?

Candidato

As I already mentioned, my most favorite 1 was Belenchiki, but given some more examples, it is also a Russian traditional dish called Zeloni Bourge. It's a soup with uh, potato, eggs and special greenery. I don't know how it's called uh but it's a little bit sour and I adored it.

Examinador

Do you eat different foods at different times of the year?

Candidato

I wouldn't say that it really affects the main dishes I eat, like something for breakfast or dinner, but there are some seasonal fruits and vegetables, like Tangerines for new year season or a huge amount of berries during summer and pumpkin at the autumn season.

Examinador

Has your favourite food changed since you were a child?

Candidato

Yes, uh, as I already talked about it, I really like plain chicken and I still do love them, but when I was a toddler, I really liked, uh, porridge made by my mom in Russian. It's called mana kasha. Uh, but now I can't even look at this porridge all the time. When I try this one, I want to throw up immediately, it tastes disgusting.

Part 1

What is your favourite food?

Puntuación: 68.0

Sugerencia: Сделайте ответ более кратким и структурированным: сначала назовите блюдо, затем кратко опишите, почему оно вам нравится, приведите одну конкретную деталь и избегайте ненужных повторов и заполнителей («uh», «I am not a specialist»). Используйте связующие слова, чтобы предложение звучало плавно.

Ejemplo: My favourite food is a Russian dish called blinchiki. I love them because my grandmother used to make them when I was a child, and the thin pancakes with sweet filling always felt comforting. Although I now live in Saint Petersburg and can't eat them as often, I still remember their buttery taste and crispy edges.

What kind of food did you like when you were young?

Puntuación: 62.0

Sugerencia: Будьте более точными и избегайте сомнений и повторов. Назовите одно или два блюда, дайте чёткое описание ингредиентов и вкуса, используйте связку для логики (for example, also, moreover). Уберите «uh» и фразы «I don't know how it's called».

Ejemplo: When I was young I mainly liked blinchiki, but I also enjoyed a traditional soup called zeleny borshch. For example, it contains potatoes, eggs and lots of fresh herbs, and has a slightly sour flavour from fermented cabbage, which I adored back then.

Do you eat different foods at different times of the year?

Puntuación: 78.0

Sugerencia: Отвечайте прямо и дайте конкретные примеры с логическими связками. Можно начать с короткого основного утверждения, затем привести 2–3 конкретных сезонных примера. Избегайте громоздких фраз («a huge amount of berries» можно заменить на «many berries»).

Ejemplo: Not really — my main meals stay the same throughout the year. However, I do eat seasonal produce: for example, tangerines at New Year, lots of fresh berries in summer, and pumpkin dishes in autumn.

Has your favourite food changed since you were a child?

Puntuación: 70.0

Sugerencia: Дайте ясную структуру: начните с прямого ответа (Yes/No), затем сравните прошлое и настоящее с причинами. Избегайте эмоциональных и резких выражений («I want to throw up», «disgusting») — лучше использовать нейтральные описания. Сохраняйте вежливый тон и логические связки.

Ejemplo: Yes. As a child I loved mana kasha, a semolina porridge my mother made, because it was comforting and sweet. Now my tastes have changed and I prefer plain chicken dishes because I like their simple flavours and texture; I rarely eat semolina porridge anymore.

Gramática

Article errors

× My favorite food is a Russian traditional dish which is called Belichicki.

My favorite food is a traditional Russian dish called Blinchiki.

Incorrect article and word order: 'a Russian traditional dish' is awkward; native order is 'a traditional Russian dish'. Also 'which is called' is wordy — use 'called'. Spelling: 'Belichicki' likely 'Blinchiki'. Use definite/indefinite articles appropriately and prefer concise structures. Suggestion: Use adjective order (opinion-size-age-shape-color-origin-material-purpose noun): 'traditional' (opinion/type) before 'Russian' (origin). Remove unnecessary relative clause.

Subject-verb agreement errors

× Uh, my grandma used to make them when I was a child and now as I moved to Saint Petersburg, a huge city which is far away from my hometown.

My grandma used to make them when I was a child, and now that I have moved to Saint Petersburg, a huge city far from my hometown.

Tense and connector: 'as I moved' is incorrect for the present situation; use 'now that I have moved' or 'since I moved'. 'Which is far away from my hometown' is wordy; 'far from my hometown' is better. Also add comma before 'and' to join clauses. Suggestion: Use present perfect 'have moved' to link past action to present condition.

Incorrect use of pronouns

× I really miss Blinchiki made by her, but I'm not a specialist in this and I cannot make the same one as her.

I really miss the blinchiki she made, but I'm not skilled at making them and I cannot make ones the same as hers.

Pronoun and possessive errors: 'made by her' is grammatical but awkward; use 'she made'. 'specialist in this' is unnatural — use 'skilled at making them'. 'the same one as her' should be 'the same as hers' or 'ones the same as hers' because 'her' needs possessive form. Suggestion: Use possessive pronoun 'hers' and match plural 'blinchiki' with plural references 'them' or 'ones'.

Comparative and superlative errors

× As I already mentioned, my most favorite 1 was Belenchiki, but given some more examples, it is also a Russian traditional dish called Zeloni Bourge.

As I already mentioned, my favorite was Blinchiki, but another traditional Russian dish I like is called Zelyonyy Borshch (green borscht).

Redundancy and form: 'most favorite' is incorrect — 'favorite' already implies superlative. Number '1' seems accidental and should be removed. Word order: 'Russian traditional dish' should be 'traditional Russian dish'. Spelling: 'Belenchiki' likely 'Blinchiki'; 'Zeloni Bourge' corrected to 'Zelyonyy Borshch' or 'green borscht'. Suggestion: Use 'favorite' alone and correct names/spelling; use 'another' to introduce a different example.

Incorrect use of prepositions

× It's a soup with uh, potato, eggs and special greenery.

It's a soup with potatoes, eggs, and special herbs.

Countable nouns: 'potato' should be plural 'potatoes' when listing ingredients. 'greenery' is vague and uncountable; use 'herbs' or 'greens'. Also add commas for list punctuation. Suggestion: Use plural for multiple items and choose precise nouns for ingredients.

Incorrect use of pronouns

× I don't know how it's called uh but it's a little bit sour and I adored it.

I don't know what it's called, but it's a little bit sour and I adored it.

Incorrect question-word order: 'how it's called' is incorrect in English; use 'what it's called'. Tense: 'I adored it' is past; if referring to childhood taste it's fine, but consistency may require 'I loved it' (simple past) — both acceptable. Add comma before 'but'. Suggestion: Use 'what' for names: 'I don't know what it's called.'

Present tense issue

× I wouldn't say that it really affects the main dishes I eat, like something for breakfast or dinner, but there are some seasonal fruits and vegetables, like Tangerines for new year season or a huge amount of berries during summer and pumpkin at the autumn season.

I wouldn't say that it really affects the main dishes I eat, like what I have for breakfast or dinner, but there are some seasonal fruits and vegetables, like tangerines at New Year, lots of berries in summer, and pumpkins in the autumn.

Phrase and article use: 'something for breakfast or dinner' is vague; 'what I have for breakfast or dinner' is clearer. Capitalization: 'Tangerines' and 'New Year' capitalization fixed. 'a huge amount of berries' is unnatural for countable items; use 'lots of berries' or 'a large quantity of berries'. 'pumpkin at the autumn season' should be 'pumpkins in the autumn'. Suggestion: Use 'what I have' to refer to meals, 'in' for seasons, and plural/countable forms for vegetables.

Article errors

× Yes, uh, as I already talked about it, I really like plain chicken and I still do love them, but when I was a toddler, I really liked, uh, porridge made by my mom in Russian.

Yes, as I already mentioned, I really like plain chicken and I still do, but when I was a toddler I really liked the porridge my mom made in Russia.

Pronoun and agreement: 'I still do love them'—'chicken' here is uncountable when meaning meat, so use 'it' or omit pronoun: 'I still do'. 'porridge made by my mom in Russian' is incorrect: 'in Russia' (country) or 'my mom made in the Russian way' — likely 'in Russia'. Also 'as I already talked about it' is better as 'as I already mentioned'. Suggestion: Use uncountable reference for foods and correct 'in Russia' for place.

Present tense issue

× Uh, but now I can't even look at this porridge all the time.

But now I can't even look at that porridge anymore.

Collocation and adverb choice: 'look at this porridge all the time' is wrong meaning; 'can't even look at that porridge anymore' correctly expresses strong dislike now. Use 'that' (referring back) and 'anymore' for negative change. Suggestion: Use 'anymore' in negative present contexts and 'that' for previously mentioned item.

Incorrect use of verbs

× When I try this one, I want to throw up immediately, it tastes disgusting.

When I try it, I want to throw up immediately; it tastes disgusting.

Pronoun and tense: 'try this one' should be 'try it' (less demonstrative). Punctuation: two independent clauses should be separated properly; use semicolon or period. The verb forms are acceptable but 'try it' is natural. Suggestion: Use 'try it' and separate clauses with correct punctuation.
